If you like real Chinese food, this might be the only one firing in Victoria. You won’t be disappointed, like other posts said, I myself also come to this restaurant whenever I visit Victoria. For me, this is my childhood hometown food.

Great restaurant, I have been going to this grass roots restaurant for over 10 years. I try to go back to this restaurant every time I go back to Victoria.Service is great, owner still remembers me even I moved away 8 years agoGreat food as always still taste the same all these years. The spicy beef is a cold dish, well marinated, and sauce is super flavourful.Spicy fish hot pot is super tasty. Fish cooked just right.Green beans were super tasty as wellThis place is nothing fancy, grass roots mom and pop restaurant, which is awesome for bringing close friends to have a great timeParking: Behind the restaurant

There are not many restaurants on the island, but this is definitely the best Sichuan restaurant. We have been eating it for more than ten years, and the taste has hardly changed. It can be said that it is particularly delicious and addictive. The prices of the dishes are reasonable, and you can also use WeChat Alipay, which is very convenient. It is always said that the advantages are not objective, and the disadvantage is that rice is too expensive.

worse Chinese food I’ve had in Victoria. Over cooked, not good seasoning, meat was inedible, veg rice and pork bun was ok. This place will make you avoid Chinese food and the service was despite all the time.

Best Chinese/Sichuan restaurant we have ever tried in the city! The owner/Chef was originally from Sichuan. Reasonable price with a good amount of food. Will definitely go back there again.

The food was great at Hongkong West. We had the black chicken (garlic peppercorn chicken in the menu) and garlic green beans. We could have eaten them again and again! So good! The atmosphere is a bit run down, but don't let that scare you off ... the service was excellent as well!

Okay so they clearly don't need my review, but it is so good I have to write one.Ice cold beer in ice cold glasses..."it's a good first sign"The hottest wok in town (and likely no other restaurant would ever get one approved through the city).Blackened Chicken is the most famous dish (sticky sweet and sour...not black from fire). But I love...Steamed cold chicken - hoisin, sesame paste and chili sauce.Spicy Green BeansShredded pork in spicy ginger sauce.NONE of these dishes are on the regular menu (read: for white folks...yawn!).Please don't order from the regular white guy menu (read: I'm an old white guy). The food is so addictive and no other restaurant in town serves such tasty Sichuan dishes...oh and you get tell them how spicy...I can eat Thais red chilis, but can only do "medium" here.So tasty.

Amazing food and great service. Don't expect any atmosphere or any North American kind of service if you come here. Will come again when we are in town.
