Beach Haven Chowder Cook-Off 2024: The Tastiest Event of Fall in New Jersey
The Beach Haven Chamber of Commerce invites you to the annual Chowder Festival in Beach Haven. This popular culinary event brings together local restaurants and chowder lovers for tastings, entertainment, and community fun in the Queen City.
The Beach Haven Chowder Cook-off is more than just a food festival, it's a fun event that celebrates local cuisine, supports community businesses and showcases a variety of chowder recipes.


Chowder Competitions
The main part of the holiday will be a chowder-making competition, in which local restaurants will take part.
Participants will be divided into 2 categories:
Red Chowder: This category will include chowder made from tomato base with clams, vegetables, and a blend of spices. Local restaurants competing in this category include Panzone's Pizza & Pasta, Buckalew's Restaurant & Tavern, Wally's, Lefty's Tavern, and La Bamba.
White Chowder: This category features creamy New England-style chowder with tender clams and smooth cream. The participating restaurants in this category are Joe Pop's Shore Bar & Restaurant, Delaware Avenue Oyster House & Bar, Mud City Crab House, The Chicken or the Egg, and Country Kettle Chowda.
Winners will be announced at the event's conclusion, receiving special recognition and prizes for their culinary skills.


Activities for Everyone
In addition to soup tastings, the festival offers arts and crafts from local vendors, family activities, and live music. You'll be able to hear bands like Innlet, Chris Fritz Band, Billy Walton Band, East Two Three, The Pickles and others.

Date and Place of the Event
The festival will occur on October 5th and 6th at 10 am on Taylor Avenue, behind Bay Village in Beach Haven, New Jersey. The first day is free, and the second entrance is only by ticket, which can be purchased via the link.
