Burger King Breathes Fire with New 'How to Train Your Dragon' Menu
Burger King is transforming its restaurants into dragon lairs starting May 27, with a limited-time menu inspired by Universal Pictures' upcoming live-action "How to Train Your Dragon" film, hitting theaters June 13.
The star of this fantastical feast is The Dragon Flame-Grilled Whopper. This quarter-pound burger sits on a red-and-orange marbled bun, colored naturally with paprika and other spices. It comes loaded with American cheese, bacon, tomatoes, lettuce, onions, pickles, ketchup, and mayo for $7.99.

The menu also features Fiery Dragon Mozzarella Fries – melty mozzarella cheese sticks with peppers and Calabrian chili pepper breading, priced from $2.29 for four pieces to $5.29 for a dozen. For drinks, there's Soaring Strawberry Lemonade at $2.99. And to cap off the meal, the Viking's Chocolate Sundae combines vanilla soft serve with Hershey's chocolate syrup and black and green cookie crumbles for $2.49.

This collaboration represents more than just another movie tie-in for Burger King. It's part of Burger King's strategic shift toward becoming a family-friendly destination. After successful collaborations with "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" and "The Addams Family," the chain is doubling down on movie tie-ins that appeal to both Generation Alpha kids and their millennial parents.
Tom Curtis, president of Burger King U.S. and Canada, explained their approach: "We're finding that there will be chapters to this as we go through time, and right now is this family strategy chapter."

"A lot of brands do these movie partnerships, but we have these properties now coming to us because they know we're going to go all in on it," Curtis said, hinting at more collaborations coming in the second half of the year.
Beyond the menu, Burger King's launching "Night Fury Flight," an app-based game where Royal Perks members can play daily through July 15 for offers and chances to win AMC Theatres gift cards or a grand prize trip to Universal Orlando Resort.
