湘辣楼 is a restaurant serving authentic Hunan flavors. The food is delicious, with bold flavors filled with tons of garlic and chilis. The pot of thousand year old egg with eggplant is a favorite, and the thousand year egg dish and sour fish soup are really enjoyed. The braise pork is $17 with a huge portion size, good enough to share between 3-5 people. The braised whole fish is the star, and the crispy pork belly with bamboo shoots is very flavorful. The fried rice is perfect. The skewers, including chicken cartilage and lamb, are also bomb. The cabbage and cumin lamb are a must. The squid and shrimp dish is really good, though there is a little bit too much oil. The potato dish is a staple and the crunch goes well with everything. The place is super cute and spacious, filled with both tables and cozy booths. There is a parking lot out front. The staff are friendly, attentive, sweet, polite, and smiley. The atmosphere is relaxed and cool. Prices are really good. Service is fast, though ordering can be a bit delayed with table QR code. Have patience because a delicious meal is so worth the wait.
