Friendly and helpful staff. They offered a free sample. Then we purchased a cake immediately. 14 dollars, great buy. Try the black sesame.

Had a great experience picking up a last minute gift for a friends birthday! Jackie helped me pick out the green tea cheesecake and was super helpful and friendly. The cheesecake was really delicious, really light and perfectly sweetened with the right amount of that matcha flavor.Definitely coming back!

I've tried the original tart tasty and not so heavy. The orea cheesecake is so light and yummy. I don't feel so guilty eating it.

This fluffy, light cheesecake is done Japanese style and really caters to East Asian palates. If your relatives are the type to complain about a dessert being "too sweet", then they will definitely like the cheesecakes from Uncle Tetsu! The cheese flavor is a bit subtle yet aromatic and not overpowering. The texture is soft yet still dense enough to be considered a cake. I have sampled the other flavors, but always just want an original cheesecake. The line is never long at this location and I always get two because they're so reasonably priced and they disappear so fast at my parent's house!

As someone who isn't a fan of regular cheesecake, this is so much better! My friends surprised me with the Oreo one for my birthday. It was really tasty and light. The Oreo was mostly in the top half of the cheesecake, so it didn't over power the actual cake. It is a small place and depending on the times it can either be really busy or empty.

Service is eh. I ordered the original. It's not super sweet. It's like a soufflé. I like that there isn't a crust. I come back to try other flavors. That's about it. "It's a very fluffy cheesecake" I wouldn't wait more than five minutes for this.

Coming from an Asian family where the parentals are not big fans of sweet dessert (I know lots of folks can relate! And know that when a parent says "Wow, it's not that sweet" is a compliment, hah!), it is difficult to find a dessert that they enjoy. Uncle Tetsu's cheesecakes have been a hit in my family especially since this 'cheesecake' does not taste like the American cheesecake, which is more dense and sweet. Rather, the cheesecakes are fluffy and even has this moistness to it. Not to mention, Uncle Tetsu has multiple flavors and changes them here and there! As a family, we've tried the original, matcha, ube, strawberry, matcha, and black sesame one. We have yet to try the basque cheesecake. I will say, like many places, the prices have increased. Therefore, that has been a factor to not buying it as often as we used to. Nonetheless, if you have not tried Uncle Tetsu's cheesecakes, you must give it a try! If you have a gathering anytime soon, consider bringing this!

Fluffy Delicious Japanese cake and dessert. It is located inside Santa Anita Mall, just next to Den Tai Fung and Nordstrom in the second floor. Simon was our server. He was very nice and efficient. We were lucky because there was no line when we arrived. We ordered the following:- Original Cheesecake $13-Ube Cheesecake $13- Chocolate cheese tart $4.50 each-Matcha Cheese tart $4.50 eachEverything was spectacular. The Ube cheesecake was well balanced between ube and the taste of cheese. If you are Ube lovers like myself, you should try this one.The original cheesecake was also perfect, fluffy and creamy. I liked both the chocolate and matcha tart. If you are craving Japanese cake, this is the right place to try.

Uncle Tetsu, first of all I'd like to say its in a great location in Arcadia, in the Santa Anita mall which is always usually great for parking. The service I get from the workers are always very kind and friendly which I do appreciate. My most recent visit i was helped by Celine. What great customer service she gave! The food here is great for desserts or a snack. The lines here can be on or off. Sometimes the lines and wait can feel very long while at other times there is no line and wait. The Japanese cheesecake is very light/airy with a nice light flavor. As we like to say "not too sweet" I'm also a big fan of their ube cheese tart which I suggest you give a try, has a lot more flavor than their cheesecakes. The biscotti here was a surprise to me with how good it was! I will for sure return here.

Delicious Japanese cheesecakes without the flight to Japan. I usually get the original cheesecakes because they are my dad's favorite. They are light and airy. But today we decided to try the Basque cheesecake. It's got a creamy/custardy texture, great flavor, and just the right amount of sweetness. It's so satisfying to eat! After trying it, we bought a one up bring home.

Really good cheesecakes. You have to ask for utensils. They used to do good drinks here as well, but I guess it's discontinued.
