A huge selection of items for malatang which is awesome. I prefer dry pot and the dry pot is just not as good as Yin Tang’s dry pot. It’s lighter on the sauce which makes it bland. But the biggest issue is their peanut sauce is watered down.

They changed the plates. I was so worried the flavor might be changed but it wasn’t. Always good and clean. Great services!

Very clean and bright atmosphere. Plenty of ingredients to build your bowl with. I really like the dry mix. Its so flavorful it makes me want to go back for more.

Malatang tastes good. BUT!!! The aunt who serves the food has a bad attitude every time. You can't ask for a glass without being glanced at. Today, she was rude to me, didn't know anything about points, and asked me to pay more. You know, I come here a lot and have many points. I didn't want to go because of her service. It isn't nice to treat guests. She is not fit for the job because she is impatient!

If you haven’t been here before the setup might be confusing. You should head all the way to the back, go to the cashier, tell him the number of people, get a table number from him, and then get a bowl and start putting stuff you want in the bowl. The bowl is weighed and charged by the pound, but you don’t pay until you’re done eating. Then you hand the bowls to the cashier to order what type of soup you want. They hand you order numbers and you go to your table and just wait for them to bring you food. You can also make sauces at the sauce station. When you’re finished, bring your bowls back to the front and pay. Also note that you get one tong for picking up all the foods, so if cross contamination is a concern or you have food allergies, this might not be the best place to go.The lady in the front was not helpful and just shouted Chinese at us and acted like we were in her way for not knowing the rules. Some of the customers tried to help us too, but they should really just post the rules outside the store or in front of the front door to help newcomers. I think if you look East Asian, they will assume you speak Mandarin, so you should mention that you don’t speak it to clear the air. The rest of service was fine and nice, just the initial confusion didn’t feel very good.

Our first time at YGF Malatang and we totally enjoyed it! I think their hours might have changed because I remember seeing they closed at 12a. Now they close at 11p. every day except Sundays. This is great because there aren't many hot soup places that close that late in the area. We came by on a Saturday night and it was not too busy. There was plenty of parking and open tables. Their concept is a little different. You choose all your meats, veggies and add ons in a large bowl. They have plenty of options, from asparagus to squid rolls. The only thing I wish they could update is labeling the meats. They aren't labeled correctly and I accidently added lamb to mine. I thought it was beef and didn't realize until we were eating. Once you're done, you take the bowl to the front and they weigh it (they charge by lb). You then choose your broth beef bone soup (less or mild spicy), hot spicy red oil soup, or tomato soup. I chose the mild spicy broth and it was just perfect. Not too spicy, but it had a slight kick to it. My boyfriend's was a little more spicy (hot spicy red oil broth). They take your bowl and give you a keychain and you go sit down. The server takes your drink order. They have soda (Coke products), teas and juice. You can also order appetizers. There's also a sauce and condiment station. They have lots of sauces and ingredients to choose from and make your own delicious sauce. Once your soup is ready, they bring it out to you. I was surprised at how good it was. It exceeded my expectations. I will definitely be back. I highly recommend, especially for this rainy weather!

Would've been a 5 star if they didn't recently add a minimum order of 1 pound. I've been here many times and have never gotten more than 1 pound so it sucks that they're doing this now.

Good service and nice interior. Ended up paying like 40 dollars for mine cause I got a bunch of stuff but it was enough for me to take home and have another meal. I would recommend get your meats first and then go back and get the vegetables and other stuff. I made the mistake of doing vegetables first and ended up loading my bowl to the brim. Their sauce bar is also very good to

Great concept! Been here twice already! Hot pot or dry pot by the pound. $13.99/lb. As you enter, tell the host how many people, they write the table # on a piece of paper, then get a big huge salad bowl and tongs to pick your items. An abundance of variety to choose from! But beware, 1lb adds up quick! I pretty much got 1lb exactly each time, but my poor daughter and friend both got 2+ lbs!!! $29 and $25 a bowl! I could have gone to AYCE hot pot for that price! You take the bowl to the front counter, give them the paper with the table# on it, they weigh it, give you a number for your bowl and take it back to cook it. Then u go find your table. While you wait, they have a sauce bar with a wide variety of condiments! When the cooked food comes, give them back their number that they gave you for the bowl and enjoy your food! First time I went, I got the spicy mix. It's in a cumin heavy sauce. Pretty good! I reminisce about it once in a while. The 2nd time, I got the spicy dry pot. Not spicy for me. Just numbing from the Szechuan peppercorn. The beef bone broth my friends got was pretty good. It was a more creamy broth and they ask you how spicy you want it. Luckily there is more chili at the condiment counter! Service is great! They have ice water already at your table. They come around often to refill your water. Both my friends didn't finish their hot pot and the servers were nice enough to package it up. Then you pay at the table. Plenty of tables and plenty of people! The only thing I would suggest, is that they have a scale when getting your food, so you can weigh it before you go to the counter. I mean, I guess you can ask the cashier, but that would be double work for them. But then again, they want you to overstuff your bowl! I would return again, but this time I would watch my friends before we spend $30 a bowl!

Loved it here! I've never been to a spot where they cook the hot pot for you after you choose what you would like in your bowl. They were very fast to serve it to your table and it comes so hot! For sauces, there's a self serve bar right next to seating with plenty of options to choose from. I came around dinner time so it was very busy and took awhile for seating, but I was very happy to try it out for the first time!

PROS: GREAT FOOD !!! I liked the wide variety of meat choices and vegetables. Service was excellent. My first time there (Feb. 6, 2024 at approximately 6PM) I had no idea what I was doing, but the staff was smiling and very helpful towards showing me the ropes. My order was to go, and when I brought the meal home, my wife, (born & raised in Chongqing) confirmed that the broth taste was authentic and delicious. While I was waiting for my order to be cooked, (about 10 minutes) I noticed that the other customers seemed to be very happy enjoying their meals as well. I will be definitely be going back. CONS: it was raining in the parking lot.

Quick service, we didn’t need to wait for so long until our food was ready. Saw one of the branches in Singapore but finally get to try here
