“What makes this place is first and foremost the staff, but anyone in BV knows people is what makes every good place tick. Burger was excellent, fries were stupendous and after a day of slogging around meadows looking for mushrooms a few of their fresh taps hit the spot. In door and outdoor seating. “Just spent 3 days here with my husband for a wedding. Everything was wonderful1 The staff was responsive and cheerful, the lodge was spotless and the food amazing. I loved our room! At night you could open the windows and hear the brook outside. The sky, the mountains - spectacular. I'm confused by the bad reviews. This place IS rustic, but clean and well run. If you want a high end pampered "spa" resort experience, go to Aruba. But really, this place is a gem. NO complaints at all and we have traveled extensively. Thanks BVL, for a great time!PS. Also, a beautiful clean pool, kid friendly.“

“Ebbett's Grill at Bear Valley is a pretty good stop for your afternoon lunch if you didn't bring your own food. They have a salad bar ($12), pizza, fries ($6) and several other traditional mountain resort food options. The food is good and season pass holders get a discount. On the last day of the snow season (which happened to be yesterday for Bear), season pass holders get a free lunch. My boyfriend enjoyed a delicious salmon and rice plate with a Caesar salad on the side. I had curly fries (and several bites off his plate). There is lots of indoor seating and some space outside, weather-permitting, if you go through the Monte Wolfe Saloon next to the Grill.“
