“Four of us had dinner at the (new) Dogwood in Arnold. The food and service were excellent. The server knew the menu well and made great suggestions. We tried many things as this was our first time at the newly re-opened restaurant. We shared Arancini and the Steam Pot for appetizers, both very good, flavorful. Four steaks for the table, two rib-eyes with demi-glaze and two filets with herbed butter (you get a choice of sauces, sides like caramalized onions are offered too). There was a dessert special - chocolate cake with whipped peanut butter frosting, amazing! Absolutely get this if it's on the menu. A great experience overall, we will definitely be back.“
“We've owned our home in BLHS for over 10 years now. I love all the improvements to the grounds and area. That being said, I still think there's room for more. I'd love to formally convert the lower tennis courts to pickleball courts, more art and creative activities, sauna, a top line obstacle course or something to that effect. But overall, happy with the investment over the past couple of years. Looking forward to even more memories.“
“Ate breakfast here between Xmas and the new year. The food was good, and the atmosphere was entertaining. The reason the service got a 4 star is as follows: when I ordered coffee the waiter asked if I wanted any cream, I answered yes, I never saw the cream. Later when giving me a refill, he asked if I need cream, I answered yes. I never did get my cream. Fortunately, the coffee was great and was good without cream. If you order bacon with your breakfast, you get four strips! The hashbrowns were fair to middling. We will eat here again when we return to Arnold.“
“Wow went to the soft opening for their “After Hours” dinners for Thursday - Saturday nights if I understand it correctly. Amazing Filipino-American cuisine. Chef Beverly is creating a dining experience that will change frequently and stay interesting and great. Everything we tasted today was fresh, original, and epically delicious! We definitely recommend checking it out!“
“Last August, I visited Camp Angel and Murphys with 4 friends, I discovered this little wine bar, and my fellow traveler said he could drive for me, so I had a cup of beer, it tasted so beautiful. So it was so much fun to find this unforgettable place on my map a year later...“
“Wonderful spot in a wonderful town (shhh... don't tell anyone about Murphys CA). Grounds consistently serves fresh, tasty, well-prepared California cuisine at good prices. I especially enjoyed the crab cakes appetizer (massive and chock-full of actual crab) and their burgers are on-point too. Great locally focused wine list and very classy cocktails. Their sister restaurant, Firewood, dishes out more casual fare and our kids love the pizza there.“
“A nice patio for lunch just off of main Street surrounded by historic buildings. We had to wait a little while to get a table which is understandable, but it would have been nice if we were addressed and told it would be a few minutes. We just stood there by ourselves for a little while. As far as the food goes, everything was very good we had pasta of the day and BLTA and split a house salad which was good to spinach and arugula with the other nice greens. All were very good. I Would come back.“
“Very friendly staff. Good recommendations. Food was awesome: we had the cowboy nachos, bacon lube, and the grilled chicken sandwich (it was recommended we add bacon and avocado to the sandwich, and it was delicious!) The place is historic so of course they have historic and period pieces all over: old skis, sleds, signage, and more. We’ll definitely be back!“
“I truly enjoyed my dining experience. It was wonderful to have a plentiful, creative, tasty, exceptional dining experience. Best kept secret in Blue Lake Springs, Arnold. I love overlooking the beautiful grounds and lake. Saved a lot of corkage fees. This is a bring your own wine and alcohol place. They had all the glasses. Can’t wait to go back.“
“This was our first time visiting this great town. We looked for a place to eat a good dinner and liked the look of this place. Once inside, we were greeted by Kelly. She sat us and we had a drink in our hand very shortly. The menu had quite a splendid selection and we Ordered a few entrees. Each choice was so tasty we ordered a few more to try. Kelly worked her tail off to keep us satisfied and we were. We recommend everyone stop by and dine there as well! Thank you Kelly and the staff! We'll be back!!“
“Very nice pizza stop. The thin crust is nice and crunchy and the fire wood taste adds great taste. The margheritta pizza lacaks tomato slices by their recipe and had only a few shreads of basil, so it lacked overall taste, hence not the 5 stars.“
“An amazing find in Murphy's. We tried several items over two days. Great breakfast spot with super friendly staff. They are so kind. And the food was exceptional. Breakfast sandwich and a croissant. And the muffins were crazy good. It is fully worth a stop through town to get some pastries for your day in the mountains.“
“We came at off hours and the place was packed. We're a family of 4 with small kids and there was nowhere to wait for a table. There's also only a few tables to begin with. We were planning on waiting in our car, but just left because everyone was too hungry to wait for the table and then food. I was very disappointed that there weren't more tables, especially outside where a lot more could fit. It's definitely not a spot for a group or with small kids.“
