I can't believe they closed... Circumstances had brought me to this area I didn't know anyone around here I didn't have any family or friends around here and first street cafe quickly became my go-to for QUALITY, healthy, clean meals whether it be breakfast, lunch, dinner they had such a stellar menu every item on the menu was so good you could taste the quality you could taste the TLC. 3.5 stars, really. Always better than average, often quite good, and service is always good (by Benicia standards), but food is inconsistent across menu. Still, one of the better restaurants in town.

I learned a month late of their closure, saddened that First St. Cafe became a casualty of Covid. For 24 yrs., this wonderful wholesome establishment served the community with great food, service, hospitality and friendliness. I will miss their breakfast, lunch and dinners. Thank you so much, Mark, family and crew for 24 yrs. I still want to remain hopeful that after all this is over, you will return :)
