“After a recent midday trip to Benicia, we were hungry. I have been to several other restaurants on 1st Street and enjoyed them all. I will finish those reviews soon. It was my suggestion to have lunch here. We could leave the car parked and it was a short walk. Happily, it was a good choice. I ordered the Shrimp and Asparagus salad, and it was delicious. The salad consisted of mixed greens, avocado slices, cherry tomatoes, a semi-hardboiled egg, and asparagus topped off with two skewers of grilled shrimp. The Louie dressing was served on the slide. K had the pulled pork sandwich. The interior was pleasant, the bathrooms were clean, and the service was attentive. The Taproom is on my list for a return visit.“

“Glorified fast food for me. Cafeteria style ordering and get your food at the counter when they call your name. My bf loved his cold sandwich and my grilled veggie panini was only ok. Mozzarella, avo, tomatoes, and bread. No seasoning to speak of. I ordered fries for $2.50 extra and wasn't offered ketchup. What is that weird batter they coat fries with now a days? It's supposed to be an old fashioned deli style establishment per its namesake, plus the Marilyn Monroe decor. I had to go to the counter several times to grab napkins, salt, and ketchup to tolerate the bland and messy food. I would visit again in a pinch but probably get a cold sandwich and pass on the fries.Vegetarian options: Mostly meat. No meat alternatives but you could build your own veggie sandwich or get the bland panini.“

The staff is always pleasant and helpful, and if you're not a beer drinker soft drink or coffee refills are plentiful. One semi-negative is that I don't think their Thursday special "Big Max" is as good as the Mickey D's variety. Haven't tried their weekend breakfast yet but on the menu it looks good.“

“I’ll give it 4.5 stars. It’s a chain sandwich spot. Bread was solid. Sandwich was good and hit the spot, but it’s not earth shattering. Staff was courteous. Come here for a solid sandwich. It feels very corporate-sandwich-shop-ish inside so I ate and left. I was wondering how this place earned 4.9 stars and found the note on the tables where they offer a free gift for a review. I am personally not a fan of that, so I wanted to share. Overall a solid chain sandwich spot.“

“*Just visit again ~The food is awesome and really big.But it tastes a little bit burnt at the bottom of the wrap, I’m not sure how can I call it? Crust or tortilla? Also, the sauce is amazing too!For a Taiwanese, it’s hard to accept spicy sauce with strong vinegar tasting, such as Tabasco. But the sauce you have is just amazing. No matter the green one(Cilantro Jalapeño)or the red one(Fire Chili), they’re spicy but without too much sour.I believe most of the Taiwanese or Chinese or Malaysian or Singaporean will love the sauce too.I'm Taiwanese, and their hot sauce doesn't have a strong vinegar flavor. If you don't like Tabasco's chutney,I seriously recommend this one“

“Thank you all so much for helping me reach over 9 million views and getting me into the top 10% for business and restaurant reviewers in the country. If you'd like to see more, like, follow, and share. Here's the review:This place gave gave me so much nostalgia. It was a nice cafeteria style space. You can see into the kitchen as well as the waitresses station. They have lots of positive messages on the walls, and they remember your faces when you walk in.I could tell the people there have been coming for years.I ordered the peanut butter waffle and substituted the bananas for strawberries and no whipped cream. I had scrambled eggs with cheese and the veggie sausage since they had it, and Im allergic to pork. Otherwise, I would have asked them to just remove the meat from my order. To drink, I chose the hot chocolate and forgot to take the picture before I began drinking it. You missed out on the perfect whipped cream mountain she put on it for me, and the sprinkles made that hot chocolate moment, my happy place. ?The eggs and sausage came out first. They tasted like normal eggs and cheese. Nothing over the top, just comfort breakfast. The veggie sausage, I could tell, was the real thing when I passed my fork over the top. It had this nice crust that only veggie sausages have. It was well flavored for breakfast as well.At some point, my waffle came, and oh boy, was it big!!!! The peanut butter they use is a but sweet, so keep that in mind for those who may need to reduce their sugar intake. But paired with the strawberries and the hot syrup, it was ?! The waffle was freshly made to order and had those nice crispy parts on the sides. The waffle was able to hold up to the moisture of the toppings as well, which is always a bonus.A couple of things I noticed when people watching the staff is this:1. They all enjoy working there2. They dont wash their hands enough between touching the cash register and your food3. They dont have a drop plate under the drink dispenser and spill liquid on the floor, which is carpeted. I can only imagine the number of germs that spread. And seeing ine waitress pick something up off the floor and toss it out without washing her hands after, worried me.Improving these few things would make this place even better than it is. The staff were all friendly and helped each other. They communicate well and just need to wash their hands a little bit more often to keep germs from spreading. In the meantime, check out the images attached to my review to see what I had. And if you're looking for a small town cafateria vibe where people gather for the good vibes and breakfast that tastes like home, this is your spot. It's not fancy and over the top. It's home.? enjoy!Vegetarian options: Veggie sausage option, and you can swap out some things to make it how you want.Kid-friendliness: There were children here, so I am sure they have children's favorites ?“

As soon as we walked through the door we could smell food and it smelled delicious. The server came over as soon as we sat down to take our order. She was very nice and answered the questions we had. She brought over chips, salsa and beans. I had a top shelf margarita it was very good. I ordered the chile verde it was delicious. My husband and son got burritos. They came with sour cream, guacamole and pico de gallo on the side. They were both very happy with their food. I had a bite of burrito it was delicious too. Our food came out pretty quickly and everything was hot and fresh. Our server did check on us to see if we were happy with our food or needed refills on our drinks. The women's bathroom was extremely clean and the restaurant had some great art on the walls. They also have a TV the baseball game was on while we were dining. I ordered my usual gyro bowl without rice.. all romaine lettuce. The plan was to split one salad we weren't that hungry. When we got the salad it had rice and I absolutely did not want rice. So I went back to the counter and the gentleman was immediately apologetic. He handled the situation as if we were at a 5 star dining establishment. I enjoy the food considerably as it stands. “I came here with my parents on a random Saturday and I have mixed feelings. First off- it's important to give them huge kudos for the pizza. I was very impressed. The quality of the dough is on point, and the toppings were generous and delicious. They all are in the 9-10 inch range, so small enough to eat one on your own and be full or have leftovers. It also makes it easy to split a few of them amongst several people. The bread they bring as a starter is nothing to write home about. It kind of tasted like that frozen dough you thaw out when you need to throw something together. BUT the red pesto sauce it's served with is to die for. I ended up putting it on everything. Calamari is awesome too. However, I've never tried anything else on their menu. Truth be told, it's because most of the pasta dishes look rather unappetizing. They're swimming in watery sauce. I can't really speak to the taste so I could just be judging a book by its cover, but I'm most likely to just stick to the pizza. As for the service, things get a bit strange. The woman who served us (I think the owner?) was nice enough but her energy was loud, frazzled and intimidating. Whenever she came by the table I would get anxious. It's also not the cleanest or nicest looking- kind of just your run of the mill sticky table type place. I'd recommend just getting everything to go.Overall, pretty great pizza joint and I'm sure I'll be back soon (for takeout going forward)“
