Delightful, affordable eats in a very nice, new sidewalk gazebo, sheltered from passersby with big planters. He had fish and chips with a beer and some cheesecake, while I had some veggie chili and a hot licorice spice tea. We both came away happy.The sole employee was very nice to us.
I remembered this cafe fondly from when my sister was a student at UC but this time I discovered that the food here is greasy, tasteless, poorly presented and overpriced for what it is. I had $13.95 Eggs and Breakfast Meat, a pricy breakfast to me. My ham was way too salty and the potatoes were soggy, covered with huge chunks of uncut onions and fried with too much oil. On the presentation side, my meal looked like someone barfed into my plate. My kid had $9.95 Waffles, which...
Rarely think of this place but stopped in for take out and a latte. Tuna melt was just perfect. Chicken salad sandwich on wheat was also tasty - super fresh, great flavor. So much food in those 2 items and fixings that we have to save the Cobb salad for dinner. The slice of lemon cake was ... I'm trying to make this brief ... Yummy beyond expectations.
