It was a bit of a walk from Downtown Berkeley to this cafe, but so worth it! Very small, only a few tables, but nicely busy. Amazing food....the brisket hash was phenomenal. They are "ethical" in that they apply a service charge to pay staff a living wage, and also support the homeless community....that sort of place that I had expected to find in Berkeley but hadn't seen until now. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Homemade Cafe, and I am absolutely delighted by their exceptional service. The staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and attended to throughout my visit.Not only is their service outstanding, but the taste and quality of their food are consistently remarkable. Yup so this place is definitely a must come back to next time we drive through. The French toast and pancakes were so Bombay! I wish they had one of these in yuba city! Matter fact how do I invest and open one in yuba city? ?
