Great Food Friendly service
The fajita was excellent. The meat was well seasoned, reasonably priced and was ready fast. The gardens out back are a great spot as well
Absolutely one of the best barbacoa tortas I've ever had. Reminded me of my abuelas tortas.

Mexicana is a family-owned restaurant hidden in North Berkeley’s Epicurious Garden. It is known for traditional and affordable Mexican food, with many calling it the best burrito north of campus. The burritos are excellent, sometimes fried a little on the outside, and can be ordered with barbacoa, vegetables, tofu, or just beans. Other favorites include excellent quesadillas, enchiladas, and pozole. Everything is made from scratch, including the Chicken Mole. The Mexicana Salad with mushrooms, chicken, carrots, squash and pinto beans is also popular, as is the Caesar salad with its delicious dressing and seasoned chicken. The restaurant offers nice outdoor seating in a garden and a roof deck. It is a friendly, reliable go-to for tasty food.
