We dropped in right after they opened on Saturday. We were in Berkeley to look at apartments at Aquatic. We had a little time to kill, stumbled upon the Torpedo Room and had a seat. The bartender was super sweet and told us about some of the special taps. We opted for the hard kombucha, Strainge Beast. Flavor included hibiscus, ginger and lemon. Came in for a quick snack / not a beer drinker / so I had a Lemon Seltzer/ and a provolone grilled cheese - it was light and had no flavor, it is served with a side of cold tomato soup - I don't think the soup was supposed to be served cold and un heated / it made the meal very unpleasant very disappointing/ total bill 15.00 I was disappointed/ but beer drinkers will most likely love this beer tasting spot / just don't get the food / On 4th street at University a new...read full review

Overall this is a nice taproom. It's on the small side but it doesn't feel too crowded. The bartenders are super nice and very knowledgeable about the beers. They have a bottle shop and merchandise available. Food and snacks are available to purchase. Their new hard kombucha is so good!
