There are three things I have a hard time finding in vegan versions, and which consistently disappoint me when I do find them: mozzarella sticks, Reuben sandwiches, and cannoli. I found all three at the Butcher’s Son! And for the most part, I was satisfied.
The mozzarella sticks were the weak link for me. They were too big and the cheese didn’t have much taste. They were better when they were a little cold, but not something I would order again.
The cannoli was excellent....
Love all the big heavy sandwiches. There are yummy salads too. And great desserts - cheesecake, chocolate chip cookie
Mango lassi in the drink case is made locally in Oakland and is really good
Market is great for picking up salad dressings, deli meat, prepared sides, prepared foods
Don’t skip weekend brunch.

i love this place and it’s super close to campus which is great. they also have donuts and pancakes on the weekend which is super fun. i’ve gotten lots of things and they’re always good! huge portions too so you’ll have leftovers
