Exceptional and iconic a must while in Hollywood I highly recommend the eggplant made the same for 100 years. The chopped salad is part of their history
The food was fine but nothing special. Noise level was relatively high. Service was good. Prices were a little high.

La Scala, a Beverly Hills favorite for many years, offers classic dishes that are consistently well prepared. The famous chopped salad is amazing and lives up to the hype, with a refreshing taste, nice salami bits, and tasty garbanzo beans. The bread that comes with it is also great. The Bolognese spaghetti has plenty of meaty sauce, though some may wish for more tomato flavor. However, experiences vary. One diner found the La Scala salad disappointing, with brown and wilted lettuce that had no crunch, possibly leftover from an earlier service. The salmon and beet salad had zero flavor, and the seafood fra diavolo had too much sauce and no spice. The cookie skillet was burnt. Service is generally welcoming and attentive, with staff who genuinely care about guests. But another visit saw a waiter only three times over almost two hours, and dessert was refused because the kitchen was closing. Salads have been confused and given to the wrong person. The men’s bathroom was not very clean. Despite these issues, the old school dependability of La Scala makes it a place some will gladly return to for the excellent hospitality and comfortable atmosphere.
