“Artelice Pâtisserie feels like stepping into a luxury French pastry boutique. The dessert case alone is stunning, velvet textures, glossy finishes, delicate designs, and pastries that look almost too pretty to eat.

I finally tried the Tropical Mango entremet along with the raspberry chocolate pastry. The Tropical Mango was easily my favorite, silky, refreshing, and perfectly balanced without being overly sweet. The raspberry chocolate pastry was beautifully made with raspberry compote and chocolate mousse, but I’m just personally very picky with chocolate-heavy desserts.

The iced vanilla latte paired perfectly in between bites of the mango pastry, super refreshing and smooth. I also ended up grabbing a few macarons on the way out and honestly every flavor was incredible, even though macarons normally are not my thing at all.

Definitely worth the hype if you appreciate beautifully executed French pastries and upscale café vibes.“

“Was almost lost when trying to find the outlet since it's located in a plaza that might not be visible if you're by the road side. Worry not about parking at the plaza since they apparently validated parking (yep! plus point for sure).

The gorgeously designed outlet only served grab and go since there's no seating on the spot. There were some outdoor benches at the center of the plaza though if you just couldn't wait to enjoy the goodies.

They offered bunch of sweets from Canele, Madeleine, Financier, Cookies, Cheesecake, and more; all of which did come in multiple flavors. So yeah, be prepared to be indecisive in front of the showcase. They were super helpful though in assisting you making your choices by recommending the favorite ones. It was nice that the price was decent enough for LA standard, so you could definitely opt for more than one or a couple.

For my initial visit, I started with the Ube Financier, which was kept in the chiller, maybe due to the cream on top. It came in spongy yet not too airy texture with luscious ube cream topping. It was decent, but not really my top choice. My second was their Earl Grey Milk Chocolate Tigre, which was basically buttery cake kinda similar to financier IMO, with milk chocolate ganache at the center. I definitely loved this more than the financier, especially the combo of earl grey and milk chocolate which to my surprise was awesome and helped balancing the taste to be not overly sweet. Another one I tried was their thick salted chocolate chip cookies, which decadently had crispy edge though I wish being more gooey inside as it's tad dry. Nonetheless, flavor wise I felt like classic chocolate chip with a sprinkle of sea salt indeed never failed. The creme de la creme, however, was certainly their canele which I was beyond thrilled to finally find in LA. I had my favorite one in London which I thought unbeatable, and it's impressive that LA now had something comparable to satisfy the craving without having to fly over 5K miles away. It flawlessly had that crispy coating, moist center, and just the right sweetness level. I surely made the right choice going with matcha as Brown Bag definitely elevated the overall taste with this matcha flavor and that matcha cream top. It was no brainer that their canele is NEVER TO BE MISSED if you ever paid Brown Bag a visit.“

“Angel Maid Bakery has gone down hill a little bit. Their hours are not what they say and their lot for parking is very small.

That said, their service is still great and they are very nice.

They are limited in what they will do. If you bring in a photo of a cake you want, chances are they won't be able to do it. They do not do images at all. They have a book and you can pick a cake.

Their selection in store is very good, but I am so sick of most of them having a whipped cream frosting that you have to keep cold. I don't like cold cake. Their selection of butter cream is lacking.

They do have a nice selection of cupcakes with butter cream frosting which is great.

When you have them write on a cake you pre ordered you can tell they took very little time to do it, it is sloppy and there is nothing but what you told them to write. Most bakeries add a little flower or something to present the name.

I just had a lemon curd type cake from them and I noticed the sloppy writing and the cake was so sweet I could not eat it, and of course, it was cold.

I won't be back. That is sad. I will find another bakery that cares. But I still give them a 4 because I know a lot of people like sweet cakes with whipped cream frosting and their service is very good.“

I tried a few things and everything was great. They have a few seats inside and offer coffee, hot chocolate, and other drinks. The hot chocolate wasn’t too sweet, which I really appreciated.

The croissant was very crispy with great flavor. I also tried the éclair au chocolat and a slice of galette des rois—both were a great discovery. Everything tasted really good and very close to what you’d find in France, which is exactly what I’ve been looking for.

I’ll definitely be back to try more pastries, and for sure another éclair au chocolat.“

“This Red Ribbon has been the only one I’ve gone to since I was a child. I hope it NEVER closes!! Last night, I walked in at 8:30 pm (they close at 9 pm). I saw that they started customized picture cakes. I asked Chelo how long I need to request in advance. She said about at least 30 mins to an hour. Even though at this point, we were cutting it close to closing time, Chelo ensured I would have my cake. She encouraged me to get one. Princess and Chelo were very efficient and patient with me even with my indecisiveness! Mind you it’s less than 30 mins til closing! Instead of giving me any attitude or hesitation, they made me feel welcome!! The cake came out beautifully! They were able to finish my cake within less than 15 mins since I didn’t have much edits to make. I can’t believe I can get a customized cake without the usual preordering 24-48hrs hour prior. I plan to always upgrade my cakes to these picture cakes for only $10 more. Thank you so much Princess and Chelo for making my friend’s bday even more special this year! As a Greek I have high standards and these Borekas were some of the best phyllo pies I’ve ever had. I love the combo of jammy egg, tomato sauce and Pickles…so good & so good for you. “Hey Spot Coffee, you ROCK! You should seriously change your name to Freaking Awesome Coffee.
I live on the west side and couldn’t find a single place to study for my two very important upcoming exams… and then I found YOU. Open until 2 AM, even on holidays?! That alone is legendary.
I studied here on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day—basically every other night grinding for my exam. I passed my exam on Friday, came back to study again, stayed until 1:30 AM (they close at 2 and start cleaning around 1:30)… and guess what? I PASSED AGAIN!
This place is such a vibe. I love sitting outside, and they never kick you out even if you stay for hours (I’m talking 8+). If you need a place to grind, I highly recommend Spot Coffee.
Only downside: paid parking, but honestly it’s not bad—$3 cash. Totally worth it.
The drinks and cakes are great, but it would be amazing if you expanded the menu a bit with more snacks.

Not only are their pastries eye catching and delicious, the staff headed by branch manager, Kimberly, are some of the warmest and most accommodating of any store I go to. On a couple of occasions I have ordered several boxes of pastries for clients and Kimberly was kind enough to let me order a couple of days in advance all I had to do was pick them up and there they were! Amazing service and great food!“
