Pretty good food, good people, great place away from the village. I'd call this Mexican/American diner fusion. Chicken Fried Steak was perfectly cooked. The gravy has a sweet flavor to it, kinda unique. The French Toast was just as good. Definitely recommended.

Food was good but the service was so slow. It was only half full and took them 15 minutes to bring my menu and about 30 to bring my food which was just a single burrito. Hire more workers

The spices and flavor blow away all the other Mexican restaurants on the mountain. They're pushing out fresh, home made, quality dishes! My mouth was watering at first bite.

This is the BEST Mexican restaurant I've ever eaten at and I've been all over the world. The enchiladas were fantastic. The spices are outrageous. This place doesn't look like much but the taste is out of this world. Don't leave Big Bear without stopping by.

They skimp on all the meat and beans for dishes. Obviously they can’t afford to give out decent portions of anything for the price of their food. The flavor of their food is okay and if you want Mexican food with better taste and better portions go to azteca. I tried to tell them about the faults to my dish and they offered to remake my food then tried to charge me again for the second dish. Overall there are many better choices in big bear and if they don’t satisfy honestly wait to be back down the hill to find way better Mexican food restaurants who charge less for bigger portions.I am going to to into the airforce this Tuesday and to add I did usually get the California burrito during the mornings I would work next to you, but as of a few days ago the burritos I got had way less meat than other times I’ve gotten before. So I tried the bean and cheese burrito I understand it would be smaller, but when I ate it it was 90%cheese 10% beans and I definitely would rather spend my money to get burritos that have an even amount of meat or beans instead of the cheap filling you use to make the burrito slightly bigger aesthetically. Still in conclusion there are plenty of places that would charge you less or the same for better portions if you wanted better authentic Mexican food

Our experience here was terrible. This place used to be the best breakfast in big bear and it’s under new management. We waited for 45 minutes before our food came out, the pancake we ordered never came out. The crepes were flavorless and chewy, the chicken fried steak was dry and rubbery and tastes like dog food. Two crepes, a small chicken fried steak (they said it was large enough to share and it absolutely was not), 3 apple juices and one coffee was 75 dollars! We walked out and came back a few minutes later to ask for a refund since we ate 3 bites of everything. The manager refused us a refund. He gave me nothing but excuses, said he cleaned up the place from the previous ownership. He was desperately trying to hold on to the 75 dollars instead of respecting the customers experience. He said he deals with tourists all the time and has a place in San Diego. He really showed that the tourists were beneath him and we felt degraded for being tourists. For future visitors, there are many other places to go that have better Mexican breakfasts. Save yourself the money and the experience. NOT tourist friendly.
