The Cookshak Reviews
Best food in Big Bear. I go every week and I'm always super happy!
Great food you must try their brisket
We just catered our sons’s rehearsal dinner with The Cookshak. Garrett was easy to work with and responsive to questions of which we had a lot since we were doing all our planning from Missouri. They were on time delivering our food and everyone talked about how delicious the food was. Family that live off the mountain plan on coming back to Big Bear to enjoy their food!

The Cookshak offers a wide variety of choices, including delicious vegan options. The restaurant celebrates the flavor of the meat with perfect seasoning and cooking, and the sauces served on the side have rich spices. The friendly and thoughtful service complements the home-cooked-style entrées enjoyed with beautiful lakeviews. Popular dishes like the California sandwich, perfectly dry ribs, and amazing brisket are highly recommended. Visitors also enjoy the fantastic pulled pork, brisket burgers, and a 3-entree meal that includes brisket, pulled pork, and cheddar jalapeño sausage, served with cornbread and sides like potato salad and macaroni and cheese. The staff is welcoming, and customers appreciate the effort to put burger toppings on the side. The Cookshak is a must-visit spot in Big Bear for those who love great meat and flavorful BBQ, especially the smoked turkey and brisket. The restaurant is located behind the Elks Club, making it a unique spot for those craving BBQ food.
