I love breakfast, so when I say that this is one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had, well, YOU SHOULD PAY ATTENTION.On a weekend where Big Bear was crowds crowds crowds, it was nice to walk in here around noon and not have to wait for a table.ServiceStaff here are friendly and attentive.AtmosphereLike a small town diner. Charming but no frills.FoodI really shortened the first two sections but I wanted to talk about the food. My girlfriend and I ordered coffee, which included unlimited refills, the French Toast Sandwich, and The Rail. The coffee was fine, but the food? Surprisingly great. The French Toast SandwichOne of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever had. The French toast was just sweet enough and so soft that I wish I could use it as a mattress topper. The sausage was plentiful and tasty, the eggs were fluffy, and the cheese was cheesy. The only thing that was just okay was the hash browns, which should have been crispier. The Rail“A gamble,” as my girlfriend described it. We didn’t know what to expect, but it sounded like a loco moco. It’s essentially an open-faced burger smothered in gravy, and it’s incredible. We got the home fries with The Rail and they were much better than the hash browns.PriceReasonable for the big portions.Recommend?Yes, we’ll be coming back the next time we’re in Big Bear

Hello, family and I went here for breakfast before heading back to LA after spending Super Bowl 2023 weekend in Big Bear, And what a disappointment. Restaurant was really cold inside not a cozy atmosphere, very loud and the worst of all food was brought COLD!!! I send back biscuits with gravy and for the second time gravy was not even warm. Everything we ordered was served cold. What a waste of time and money! Don’t recommend….

Heavily overpriced. Service was alright. Food was good. Definitely suggest burrito for breakfast to get most bang for your buck.

The avalanche breakfast is delicious. Big portions my bf and I share. I tried the Monte Cristo sandwich because of good reviews but I personally thought it was just ok. My bf got the French toast we both liked it but an average French toast breakfast was $20.Overall still worth going back to when we're in town. It gets very crowded. Nice staff but bathroom looked like it hadn't been dusted or thoroughly cleaned in a very long time.

The restaurant is as described. I liked it more than some of the LA restaurants, the food is tasty and plenty for each person. We tried the Roster rail and chorizo and eggs and the coffee and Fiesta omelets. Everything was great!I recommend it!!

To the car chase: Sunday morning breakfast in a resort town like Big Bear is a challenge. Labor challenges are another thing. To be honest, Grind and Grill wasn't our first choice, but it is still better than Denny's. The pancakes were huge! We should've ordered one and split it. My baby expressed dismay that her eggs were not cooked thoroughly, but we were not going to complain. The food was enough to give us energy for our hike. To the young server who waited on us: thank you for her hard work. I felt for her when she clutched her heart when I thanked her for her hard work. Being short-staffed makes waiting a pain. While we likely won't be returning, the cafe makes for a choice while in Big Bear Lake.

Me and my hubby came to Big Bear for our 8 year anniversary, it was our first time ever. I'm glad we came this place is absolutely Beautiful ? We came to Grind and Grill for breakfast, the wait was about 35 minutes, but I'll tell you what I'd wait an hour to eat here. The employees are out of this world, their customer service just blew our minds, we felt very welcomed and important, no matter how busy it was. Our server was Tiny absolutely Amazing and he made our very first experience Amazing. My hubby has the Avalanche extremely a lot of food, and I had the Rooster tail it was the chicken fried steak. Definitely coming back here next time we are here.

Our visits here are always joyous due to one reason . The food is outstanding. No matter what you may or may not read. The integrity of the staff is genuinely outstanding. Friendly servers, Robert the chef , oh my gosh! This is specifically why I said the FOOD has no compromise nor lacks in its quality. Flavor , Flavor, Flavor .You get the idea. Could continue but I sincerely believe you will find this to be an accurate review PERIOD. Visit them

FYI: To clarify, our visit was not a on a 3-day/long weekend. In addition, there were plenty of empty spaces in the parking lot that day and no one was waiting outside.

Boyfriend breakfast date meant going to the best spot in town. Disclaimer, I had to bring my own lechera syrup because I can't do pancakes without condensed milk lol I had the short stack (2 giant pancakes) and made it a combo sigh 2 eggs and 4 slices of bacon. The eggs were delicious and moist (I don't like them dry) and the bacon was super crunchy. Loved it! I just wish they carried Cholula, but tapatío did the trick. The pancakes were fluffy and flavorful and ginormous. They honestly reminded me of mom's and grandma's homemade and it took me back to when I was a little child. I drizzled my condensed milk all over them and added extra syrup. They were to die for. I'm telling you, lechera is a game changer. I also ordered tea and they brought me chai tea bags and honey with extra hot water. There were creamers at the table. It was perfect. Our waitress was super sweet. I wish I knew her name. Shout out to the older lady waitress on Saturday! Parking was solid, place was clean. A little hot due because of the kitchen I'm sure. They had the fans on an windows open. Once we were eating I totally forgot anyway lol I bet the place is even better during winter since it's be cozy. Honestly, can't wait to come back!!!

Stopped here for lunch and Grind & Grill did not disappoint! The service was impeccable and the food was fire! They ran out of an ingredient and apologized multiple times to us. The chef came out to personally apologize and also to check on how we enjoyed our food. The loaded mac n cheese was so yummy! The burger was huge and juicy. Fries were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Highly recommend you stop by to enjoy a meal here and support this business!

Wow! This place came highly recommended from several sources, and so a group of us went to check it out. While it doesn't look like much from the outside, the inside was cheerful and the wait staff very welcoming, and with windows all around two sides of the open floor plan, we almost felt like we were eating outside among the trees. It was about a half hour wait to get in. They are strictly breakfast and lunch, so don't get there too late or you'll have to find another place to eat. The pancake was amazing, crisp on the outside and the inside melted in your mouth. The syrup tasted like real syrup and the creamy butter added to the experience. Let me say, the pancake was HUGE, a full plate for one pancake and full of that tangy, buttermilk flavor. Unless you are a super-big eater (which I am), there is no way you need more than one, and I barely got my arms around just the one, though I did get a few sides also. Another member in our party got the French toast, which like the pancake was cooked just right, being crispy on the outside with a fluffy interior that just melts away in your mouth. Another member of our party got the "avalanche", ... and actually finished it. Wondering what it is? Check out the menu, and you won't be disappointed, especially if you are a hearty eater. A couple of disappointments, but not enough to dock a star. First, while the coffee was delicious, it was not at all what I would expect from a place whose name begins with "Grind". Such a place, I would expect WONDERFUL coffee, maybe with choices from several special parts of the world, and of course an ESPRESSO machine for specialty coffee concoctions. Unfortunately, neither was present. But, the coffee they did serve had a good flavor, so no complaints, just disappointed expectations. Second, the corned beef hash, though it had a good caramelization, was obviously from a can. A place that clearly specializes in breakfast should either not offer corned beef hash or they should make it themselves fresh, or farm it out to someone who does and bring it in. But NOT from a can. Come on, people! Other than those two very minor niggles, I can absolutely and hearty give the wonderful almost hidden gem Grind and Grill my hearty and eager recommendation. I'll certainly eat there again, with enthusiasm and invite my friends also. Well done!

Popped in for convenience. Our hotel was just around the corner. I'm seldom this fortunate . But sense I was planing for a average breakfast i ordered a dish recommended by my server. Not to exaggerate but this was one of the best omelettes I've have ever eaten. I cook a killer breakfast if I don't say so myself and I do. This puts any omelette I've ever cooked to shame. But most importantly any other breakfast eatery to shame. Since we live in San diego I littery can't wait till I'm in B.B. again to eat in this fine little eatery. OH !! Yes super friendly staff and food was served fast and hot. Kudos to the Chef.

Really disappointing, was quoted twenty minutes waited over an hour and half which would make sense if the restaurant was extremely busy. It was not. They had four servers on and five tables sat while eight tables were open and twelve groups waiting. The servers were just sitting around talking not at all interested in serving. Go to any other breakfast place in big bear.
