Great BBQ seasoning, sauces, food and decor!
I've never met the pitmaster here but after eating they're my new best friend! The meat was smoked too excellence, v the Mac and Cheese was incredible and the staff was very friendly. We'll definitely stop here anytime we're in Bishop.
Hard to find better & more authentic barbecue in California. I spoke with Patty (namesake of their potato salad), who was incredibly friendly. Service was fast and food was delicious. Don’t miss it!

Holy Smoke | Texas Style BBQ offers Texas-style BBQ in Bishop, CA. The brisket, tri tip, and pork are incredibly tender, with some finding the meat flavorful while others wish for more smoke flavor. The chopped brisket sandwich and half chicken are good options. Sides receive mixed feedback. The mac and cheese is flavorful, creamy, and perfectly seasoned for some, but others find it okay and not baked. The potato salad is absolutely delicious, and the cornbread is pretty good. However, some reviewers found the sides laughably small for the $28 sampler platter price, with undercooked beans. The sauces are decent, with the ghost pepper sauce providing a big spice kick but tasting like jelly. Service is kind, nice, and prompt. Parking is limited to 10-12 spaces, with community-style seating. While some call it the best BBQ on the 395 and worth a 300-mile round trip, others find it a disappointing experience and would rather drive elsewhere. Prices are considered reasonable by some, but not worth it by others.
