We had a lovely visit to Lichen Estate and particularly enjoyed their Moonglow Pinot Noir. We sat outside on a picnic bench, which gave our kiddos plenty of space to run around while we relaxed and savored the wines.

We also tried a red from Breggo that was fantastic, though sadly it wasn’t available for purchase. That just gives us another reason to come back.

We’ll definitely be frequent buyers of the Moonglow Pinot Noir and look forward to exploring more from Lichen Estate (and hopefully Breggo) on our next visit. A great spot for families and wine lovers alike!

My wife and I visited on a Thursday afternoon for our Anniversary this Summer. It was our first time and we loved it. We were pleasantly surprised with the unique and tasty ways they approached Pinots. The outdoor tasting area we used was comfortable and had a wonderful view of the foothills across the street. Our pourer was friendly and informative and spent time answering our questions. Check this place out when you’re in Anderson Valley!

Small and beautiful tasting room. Highly recommend sitting outside under the shady trees to enjoy a glass or four of wine.

I would have given the estate a 5-star review if we had more information about the wines we were tasting. My friend who was with me works in the wine industry, so she already knew a ton about all the wines. I was left more to my taste buds to figure out the story behind each bottle.

We've been dedicated wine club members for years after a chance sheep sighting from the road led to a gracious impromptu tasting. Thoughtful organic wines reflecting the best of old world tradition and laid back California sensibility.

We loved our time here! Shawn is a rockstar. Incredibly accommodating and knowledgeable about wine. Sparkling wines were a hit. As was everything else … thanks lichen and crew!!

The quality of the wine was everything we heard. Similarly priced to many of the high quality small and large producers in the region. Tasting was comfortable and ok. Nothing special. The proximity to the 128 takes away a bit, but the wine makes up for it.

Excellent small family run winery in Anderson Valley. We appreciated their sense of experimentation, attention to detail and enjoyed learning more about their wine making processes. The wines were simply delicious. Lovely property as well. Looking forward to a return visit :)

Stop for bubbly, stay for the chill vibes.Wines were tasty and the staff was friendly. Knowledgeable is an understatement for when they describe the wines. The bubbly will make you want to join the club and get a whole case.Don't forget the beautiful views and cows!

Saturday, October 1, was a special day for me. The previous Tuesday, I had been introduced to a new bottle of sparkling wine/champagne that was delicious and new to my tastebuds, and it came from a winery in my state called Lichen Estate. This champagne (it's California, so it is really sparkling wine) stunned me with its deliciousness. I tried it first at Waterbar in San Francisco. I called Lichen Estate and had a long conversation about this and that and an order from me to obtain some of their delicious wine. It arrived in record time, and I invited a journalist from the S.F. Chronicle, Tony Bravo, to share a bottle with me. I chilled the 2013 Cuvée. When he arrived on Saturday, we had to mask up as I had just inhaled and dropped some pungent Oregano oil all over me and the house. This essential oil filled my house with its odor and my nose with sharpness, and the intensity of the scent made me slightly delirious. I started to speak very loudly and laughed rather insanely. The champagne? Well, I had chilled the Cuvée, and we decided to taste it in different types of Riedel glassware and plain wine glasses and pulled out six to taste from. We closed ourselves into the kitchen, which speaks well for not having an open floor plan, as the Oregano scent was exuberant and manifesting itself in the rest of the house. The champagne had a fragrant and attractive odor and a fine and delicious taste. But both together? No that would not work.A great experience. Five stars for this wine.
