“We landed up here randomly on our way to Mendocino. And we are so glad we did. Very friendly atmosphere and scrumptious Sandwiches. We got chicken sandwich and caprese sandwich. Both very delicious. You must stop there for a bite or a drink if you happen to go towards ”
“Really good Mexican food! My tacos were nicely loaded. The homemade tortillas were super tasty. My in-laws easily split a burrito and raved about it. My wife's Birria tacos were off the charts. A definite must do!”
“We stopped here for some coffee and a snack as we traveled through the town. An Americano to drink and a chocolate cookie, and a ginger snap cookie. Pretty good.Friendly service. Small and quaint shop.”
“I came two times last year to this brewery. I had so much fun the first time with family, that on my next trip up, I knew I had to bring my friend as well. The place is huge, plenty of parking, plenty of space for everyone, kids, dogs, food trucks, bands, dancing. They have great beer on tap, the people are locals and super chill to visitors from out of town and we just had a blast both times. We played games and hanged out inside and outside and walked around, they have so much to do and it's so laid back at the same time. I wish I lived closer, I would be here a lot.”
“If you're in Booneville you need to check this place out! Check online for availability of food. Full bar 7 nights a week. We had the most wonderful lunch last time we were in town. Service was great. Food was delicious!”
“Their drip coffee was stellar, and the scone I had ( warmed up in the oven) was the best scone I’ve ever had. They had a restroom for customers as well. The women who were working were friendly, kind and efficient.Thank you for making the necessary stop an enjoyable one! I’ll stop here each time I pass through, and dream of that scone in the meantime.”
“Friendly, informative, lovely tasting of really good wines. She really knew her wines and was an excellent hostess to our group of 4. Fantastic visit. Only left with one bottle and it was not enough.”
“Really enjoyed the wine and the tasting room. Cool staff who were friendly. The wine itself was excellent. It's been a while since I've been to a tasting room where I loved the entire flight. We enjoyed the estate pinot enough to walk away with s bottle, along with a bottle of dry riesling. We're going to have to come back again in a few months to see if we love it again so we can consider joining.”
“Chad was a phenomenal host. We were there during a very rare downpour so everyone was inside, but Chad rolled with the punches and the wine was great. Fellow patrons were also fabulous and there was a great vibe. Highly recommend.”
“Amazing staff. The gentleman that helped us was so informative and gave us excellent information. Wines were delicious!! Great representation of the Anderson valley. Keep it up. We will be back for sure. ..... Not a winery to miss!!”
“We were looking for a place to feed our baby on the way home from a trip and Gowan’s Cider was sadly closed, probably because of the Super Bowl. We checked out the gorgeous property of Scharffenberger instead and I would’ve been happy to feed the baby in the parking lot, but my husband asked the one remaining employee and even though they were trying to close up early for the game, they very generously invited us to come in. We each had one glass of delicious bubbly in the VIP lounge, which they’re currently using until the tasting room reopens later this spring, and enjoyed learning about the winery and the area from the very kind and knowledgeable employee. Such a great way to round out our trip, we’re grateful to have found this port in the football-storm!”
“We have eaten here before and it was good. We came again for Easter dinner and, oh my goodness! There has been a staff change in the kitchen and it was a change for the better. Everything was so delicious and creative! We started with a quartet of deviled eggs that I thought was an interesting and cheeky nod to the holiday. Each one was different and beautiful. There was smoked salmon, caviar and I'm not sure what was on the other two but, they were delicious. We also had the Papas Bravas, and a stuffed artichoke that was so scrumptious I didn't want to share but, I did. For our main my husband and me both ordered the lamb shank. Mmmmmmmmmm! I arrived looking beautiful. I gave the shank bone a little tug and I slipped out with no resistance leaving the lamb retaining its shape. That's a good sign! The meat was soft and juicy. The potatoes underneath were velvety. The whole dish was so comforting and tasty. This was our favorite visit to Wickson. The whole place is run by women now and has such a joyful vibe. I think it makes for such a great experience when the kitchen and staff are happy. We felt so welcome and the food tasted like it was made by happy people who love what they do! The only thing that could make this visit to Wickson better was to get a room. Luckily we did! Thank you The Madrones and Wickson! We'll see you again soon!”
“Yorkville Cellars has our favorite wines of Anderson valley. If you are are planning to be in Anderson Valley you should not miss this winery. We were fortunate to be guided by Eoin who was very well informed. We loved all the wines especially the Semillion and the Richard The Lion Heart blend.”
“$25 tasting fee, not applied toward purchase. Worth it! No fancy vineyards with views to sit at, this stop is all about the wine folks...OMG - everything we tasted here (three different Pinot Noirs, one Chardonnay, one Zinfandel) was truly exceptional! We obviously needed to join the wine club to further enjoy all Witching Stick has to offer. Such a great find in a gorgeous area of Anderson Valley...so very happy we stopped by.”
“A favorite stop on our way up to Mendocino, for the perfect bites and impressive wine selection. Wendy is an amazing resource for any recommendations, so one could definitely gather some gifts for the other wine lovers in your life here. I tend to acquire something so local it's hard to find anywhere else, but that's no problem - it's just an excuse to go back!”
