“I’m always looking for good local cooking. I manage a rural restaurant and bar with amazing fresh food and homemade dinner specials nightly (Johnson’s landing cafe and bar Salton city ca) and this is now my place now in town. Daily specials like they’r their tri tip and chicken plate for $12 omg. Can’t be beat. Burritos so fresh perfectly rolled easy to eat and just delightful. Great tortillas and good carne. Have great respect that they support or supported the local schools till the end of the restaurant business as we know now. Thank Covid. Please frequent this establishment they are a family business, easy to miss on the Google maps but look for the little sign in front on K st. Let’s keep our family of local food stops alive. Respect the fact that they work. Don’t collect unemployment and keep there doors open and still put out amazing food and way too low prices as far as I’m concerned. A must go place and even take out was amazing after it sat for an hour in my car.“
“Original, streamline art deco Foster's Freeze building from the late 1940's in Old Town Brawley is very close to the Bandstand Gazebo in the middle of a green lawn. So very Middle Western!!! The only other old school Foster's that I know of is in Old Town Torrance, California, and it's in worse shape. Too tempting to pass up even at 10:30am. I went up to the window manned by a friendly, informative, young man who said he lived in Westmorland and never tasted a date shake although he pointed out that Foster's did have date shakes a long time ago. We got Into a conversation when I mentioned to him that this was an original Foster's Freeze. "Yeah, they celebrated its 70th anniversary a few years ago." I got a chocolate soft serve ice cream cone which was as good as it was 60 years ago in homage to this iconic structure. Took photos and left. City of Brawley, please give this Foster's Freeze historical status to encourage preservation as you are for the Brawley Theatre nearby. Once destroyed, all these tIme honored buildIngs can never be rebuilt. 4 stars for beIng one of the last original Foster's Freeze still standing.“
“This place is such a cute little hidden gem. The staff was so friendly, and made conversation. they started us with chips and salsa which was really good. I came with my dad he ordered the weekly soup which happens to be ambondigas the meat didn't taste right, maybe it wasn't as fresh. But the broth and everything else was good. I ordered the flautas they came outs so good, no complaints. I think the only complaint would be the presentation, but overall pretty good.“
“The only reason I gave this restaurant 3 stars (Atmosphere) is because the guy that is there playing guitar and singing has his volume so loud that is difficult to have a conversation with others at the table. He sings good and plays good but the sound is WAY TO LOUD.Other than that the service and food is excellent.“
“What a nice, quaint place hidden in a small strip mall. Lots of room,nice atmosphere and awesome food. chicken verde enchiladas are great with stewed chicken very good sauce.. Molé chicken is a nice find! Huevos rancheros, and chile relleno all the food was good and authentic. It was crowded and Service was a bit slow. They said they were missing two employees. Anyway, it was worth the wait.“
