“Choice Burger in Brea is one of those spots that just quietly exists, doing everything right without making a big fuss about it. Every time I’m anywhere near the area, it’s basically my go-to. It’s a little stand-alone place—honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if it used to be an old Taco Bell way back when. The building kind of gives off that vibe. But what it is now is a solid mom-and-pop greasy spoon that knows exactly what it’s doing.
The staff is always super friendly—just nice, down-to-earth people slinging big portions of comfort food without any pretension. And when I say big portions, I mean you better show up hungry or bring backup. They’ve got all the classics: burgers, sandwiches, breakfast plates, plus a whole lineup of Mexican dishes like quesadillas, tacos, burritos. Basically, if you’re craving it, they’ve probably got it.
Every time I go, I tell myself I’m gonna branch out and try one of their Mexican plates because they look great. But I always cave and go back to the burger combo. It’s like that friend you can always count on—reliable, satisfying, no surprises. This time around, I got the double cheeseburger with fries and a drink. The whole thing came out to under $15, and let me tell you: it’s a lot of food for that price. Big sandwich, massive pile of fries, and by the end, I was so full I actually left food on the tray. That almost never happens. They’ve got this little salsa bar too—fresh diced peppers, plenty of ketchup, and if you ask for ranch, they’ll give it to you without nickel-and-diming you for it. I didn’t ask for a drink refill, so I can’t confirm if they’ll top you off, but honestly, they probably would because they’re just that kind of place. Is this some fancy gourmet Smashburger? Nope. It’s not pretending to be. It’s just a really solid old-school cheeseburger—fresh, tasty, with all the fixings. I added grilled onions (no extra charge) because that’s how I roll. And like I said, I still had to tap out with a couple bites left.
One of the other things I love about Choice Burger is the easy parking. It’s tucked on a side street with plenty of free spaces right out front. No parking stress, which is half the battle for me when I’m deciding where to eat. They’ve also got both indoor and outdoor seating, and since it was a perfect sunny day, I sat outside. Totally chill, totally satisfying.
Bottom line: if you’re just looking for a great little local burger spot where you’ll get a ton of food for a fair price, Choice Burger is absolutely worth it. I recommend it every time.“

Olinda Burger Hamburger •
150 Olinda Pl, Brea

“Q: Ever had a burger so good you came back twice in one day?

A: Welcome to Olinda Burger, where that’s just a normal Saturday.

No reservations. No hype. Just a random drive through Brea that turned into a full-blown love story with a burger joint that feels like a movie set. You think you’re pulling into a motorcycle shop… then boom, grill smoke, good music, and people biting into burgers like they’re tasting joy for the first time.

🍔 Let’s talk about that burger

I went with the Standard Burger and if you’ve ever wanted to taste what “done right” feels like, this is it. No filler. No BS. Just thick, juicy, high quality beef that slaps you with flavor and hugs you with every bite.

They’re not faking it with fluffy buns or sneaky toppings. This thing stands on flavor alone and it stands tall. Other customers go nuts for the Smokeshow and the peanut butter meets sriracha wildness of the SPBB, and honestly, I believe the hype. Those are next on my hit list as everyone around me was hyping it up.

🍟 Fries that feed an army. Tenders that convert picky kids.

We got the fries with the burger and these weren’t just big, they were borderline absurd in the best way. Crispy golden giants, made to share (but good luck with that).

Tried the chicken tenders for my daughter. She’s nine. She’s picky. She took one bite and said, “These are the best I’ve ever had.” She’s now making plans to come back with her cousins like it’s her mission.

🧊 That tea though…

Iced raspberry peach sunset tea. Just read that again. It’s not syrupy. It’s not fake sweet. It’s tea, but make it soulful. Like summer in a glass. Like something you’d write a poem about if you had more time and better handwriting.

☕ Coffee lovers, they see you

Next door, Carbon Canyon Coffee is throwing down some serious caffeine game. Slow brewed Japanese style cold brew that tastes like it’s been thinking about your soul all night. No weird flavors. No fake syrups. Just honest to goodness craft coffee.

They’ve even got Thrifty’s Ice Cream, pure nostalgia in a scoop.

🪑 Ambiance that makes you want to live here

The outdoor patio? Chef’s kiss. A breeze that hits just right, gentle music, and the kind of seating setup that makes you stay longer than you planned. Wheelbarrow tables. Cozy nooks. One spot even feels like a tucked away reading den if books had a scent, it’d be burgers and fresh air.

🎁 Extras you didn’t know you needed

There’s a little shop with plants, knickknacks, and merch you’ll end up buying because you want to take a piece of the vibe home. And the staff? On a different level. The owner stepped out to give my daughter a free chocolate ice cream just because it’s summer and “why not live a little?” I mean, who does that anymore?

🏁 Final Word: Is Olinda Burger worth the hype?

No. It’s worth more than the hype. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to bring your friends, your family, your coworker who’s having a bad week, just so they can feel what you felt.

If you’re in Brea and don’t make the time for Olinda Burger, I can’t help you. This place is that good.

Get the burger. Try the tea. Sit in the sun. And let yourself fall in love with a spot that’s doing everything right.

(P.s. will update with more photos, we couldn’t wait to eat some missed a few early photos)“

“I've been coming to this place for 22 years, since I graduated from El Dorado High. Its an awesome small diner type place where you can sit and watch all the traffic fly by. Their breakfast burritos are perfect, as is their grilled ham and cheese. I'm happy their still around since the other side of the street got built up with a lot of other food options.“

“I ordered the regular Curry Katsu Plate. The portion size was just right, and the katsu was perfectly crispy on the outside while tender and juicy inside. The curry sauce was flavorful, but with a nice depth that complemented the katsu really well. Overall, it was a satisfying meal, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone craving good katsu with curry.“

“We stopped by IHOP for a late-night dinner and were greeted promptly with no wait time—seated right away, which was a great start. Our server, Rosario, was very friendly and gave us a few minutes to look over the menu before taking our drink orders.

Our family ordered breakfast items, including omelets and the Split Decision plates. My wife’s Build Your Own Omelet came out missing a couple of ingredients, but impressively, the kitchen and Rosario caught the mistake before we even had a chance to say anything and fixed it right away.

I did end up grabbing condiments myself after asking, but Rosario appeared to be the only server managing five other tables and handling to-go orders—so it’s understandable. She definitely deserves some extra support, but she stayed friendly and professional throughout.

All around, it was a great meal with good service. We'd definitely come back again.“

“The Breakfast Factory at the Brea Mall ⬅️

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Breakfast Factory in the Brea Mall food court, and let me tell you, it was a very tasty experience! While they offer some mouthwatering breakfast burritos that caught my eye, I decided to try their smash burger menu this time.

I went for the double cheeseburger smash burger combo, which came with a generous portion of crispy fries and a drink that had free refills—always a plus! The burger was a true standout, featuring their house sauce that reminded me of a delicious Thousand Island dressing, along with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles. Every bite was packed with flavor and cooked to perfection.

I was thoroughly impressed and can’t wait to go back and try their breakfast offerings and other menu items. If you’re in the area and looking for a satisfying meal, The Breakfast Factory is definitely worth a visit! Five stars all the way!“

“Thank you to the closing crew that worked 5/23/25. Forgot that this location closed at 8pm and ordered a bunch of burgers around 7:40. Not only did they make some great burgers but they hooked it up and gave me some whopper patties and buns for my normal hamburgers I redeemed for just 125 points. Was absolutely stuffed and had leftovers, thanks.“
