“Wow, great tacos! That was my first thought when I bit into my Carnitas taco.

I wanted something from a local family run Place and this fit the bill. The Carnitas taco were tinged with lime which made it amazing. Although the tacos are small they are stuffed with meat, very filling. I also got the Al pastor and the barbacoa. I tasted the other two but only ate one. The barbacoa was OK but it wasn’t my favorite, but very juicy. ($2.75/taco cash)

I loved that they gave me a bag of chips in my to go order. The salsa is a fresh chunky salsa and quite spicy. I don’t like the pureed type salsa because I don’t think it usually has a good flavor. I was happy with the fresh chunky style they serve.

This is definitely a hole in the wall. It was very busy at lunchtime. Coming up to the building it looks quite grubby but I pushed past that knowing that I had great ratings. I’m glad I did. It’s definitely not an updated, well kept restaurant but the food was great. I met a family who said they’ve been coming for years and love the food.

“I was looking for a good taco place and I came across Covyd Tacos on Yelp and decided to try them. Unaware that they were just serving on tables under a shade during the evenings, I gave them a try and ordered asada and cabeza burritos. I became a regular after that night and they practically knew me by name. Their burritos are very delicious and their servings are generous. They also had quesadillas, and a variety of tacos. They also have Al Pastor which is really tasty. They do not accept credit cards but they accept Venmo payments. I now miss their tacos and burritos since I was only in La Puente for 5 weeks but would be their customer again if I go back to La Puente, California again.“

“Both the savory food and panderia were delicious. We ordered 2 goat birria, 1 beef birria and 1 suadero taco. The flavors were excellent, the meat quality was great, the tortillas and salsa were hand made. And the tacos were large size, not small Tijuana tacos. The price was not cheap though, but the food was really fancy so I think it’s reasonable. Definitely try the skeletor taco and the flintstones burger. These are the fancy ones with bones and ribs. It’s very delicious. Protein portion was large it really justified the price. I think every other taco I ordered was really good and unique to the location: the pork belly one, the shrimp one, and the asada one. The sharing plates are also pretty big and delicious. Quesadilla with shrimp was very good. The fried chicken was juicy and well glazed. The nachos are especially crispy. Many parking spaces on the street. It’s 2 hours free parking.“

“I've eaten at several of the local taco stands and THIS ONE IS BY FAR THE BEST! Their al pastor is absolutely delicious because it's fired up on the trompo, sliced off, and cooked a la plancha to give it a crunchy texture while retaining its juiciness. My kid loves their cabeza. They also have suadero on the weekends. I've talked with several other customers during my visits there and they're all regulars because they also think it's the best taco stand around.
