From the first bite of Growlers juicy fall-off-the-bone ribs I knew I was tasting the best of California Central Coast style barbecue! (often called Santa Maria bbq). The owner, Will is a master of the style – slow cook open pit and it’s all about the smoke, no sauce needed. The chicken is absolutely the best I have ever had. I now plan my trips to the east side around Growlers!
I stopped for lunch while passing through during an Eastern Sierra camping & fishing adventure. I met Will, and ordered the BBQ chicken... WOW! - what an excellent choice! I'm not a foodie, but this may have been the most amazing BBQ chicken I've ever had! Will will offer you BBQ sauce, but it's definitely not needed, as the chicken is spiced just right, cooked perfectly, and is extremely juicy! It was so good, I stopped by 4 days later for the tri-tip, but they were sold out!...read full review
