We came here after visiting another winery in the morning. The food was great. Beautiful outdoor seating! Our wine tasting person was named Cheryl. She was fantastic! It was a really great experience!
2025.01.19 - Tasty ribs, tasty burger all oak grilled pair nicely with solid wines. Nice place, aside from a small indoor seating area the seating is outside where you can smell the smoke of the grill and see the ostrich farm off in the distance. The 2018 Sanford and Benedict Pinot Noir paired well with the delicious BBQ ribs that had a sauce that was more jelly and glaze than sauce with a very slight kiss of heat to the flavor. It's been a number of years since we were here last but very little has changed and the food and staff are as wonderful as ever. The Hitching Post 2 BBQ has been in Buellton, CA for over 35 years cooking over the same oak fired grill. While locally renowned, its location for scenes and ties to the movie Sideways added to its already following.
