“Picked up a box of 6 empanadas to bring home, and another time i stopped by on impluse while driving by with my wife and we sat down on their outdoor tables by the sidewalk and had some coffee and 2 breakfast empanadas each.
I personally loved their pepperoni pizza empanada, theres alot of different kinds of flavors to try beyond the standard beef/chicken/pork fillings a traditional bakery would have.
Its a good place to know about. Their empanadas might be the perfect snack your craving that day, or you need to quickly get something like Porto's, but without the huge crowd and line.“

“We have only tried the empanadas with chili sauce so far but the food so far was amazing! Very authentic, very flavorful, we’ll def be back to try other menu items.
The owners are from the same small town in the Dominican Republic as my husband - what a coincidence. Super friendly!
Just beware it’s a ghost kitchen and not a restaurant, hence, no seating.“

“Was asked a week ago, Have you ever tried a Guava & Cream Cheese empanada?
What was I doing with my life before this? Mouth watering dessert empanadas to compliment their broad selection of savory empanadas. Hand sized, easy to eat on the go or to dine in. The manager made me one of their signature empanadas fresh, and was completely worth the 20 minute wait, though they have a continuous selection made ready to take throughout the day. Suggest calling ahead to check for later afternoon hours of operation.
Very Nom, will nom again.“

“If you can’t pull Oaxaca but are savoring to sample the cuisine, Comedor Tenchita makes a great alternative without the airfare. It is nestled in the backyard of a home in West Adams. I believe it is only open on Sundays. Once seated you can easily imagine being in Mexico. The service is great, our server came to our table carrying a smile and took our order for drinks and appetizers shortly after we were seated. We opted for their Chile Relleno, empanadas and menudo. All very good and authentic. For drinks, mechelada, modelo and cafe de olla. Mechelada was on point and the beer was served cold. For our main course we went with the tlayuda, carne asada and cabra (goat). The tlayuda was crispy and the toppings generous, one of the best I’ve had in LA. The goat was tender and came in a delicious broth, I used the homemade tortillas to make tacos. The server checked in frequently and even gave us each a complimentary shot of their house mezcal. He briefed us on the fermentation and distillation process as we sipped the golden nectar down. A musician arrived mid meal and performed lively Mexican folk music; looking around throughout the meal I got a sense that I was attending a Mexican wedding. Lively atmosphere. For a change of latitude and for some very good and authentic Oaxacan cuisine, I would highly recommend a visit to Comedor Tenchita“

“Wow! These empanadas are pretty good! Almost five bucks a piece, but hey, inflation! What can we do? I do love how they make it stupid-proof for me, because I can't remember what I ordered, so they actually use branding irons to sear the name of what you ordered onto each. GENIUS! Every bite was really juicy too! Plus, despite inflation, most other places will usually have a lot of air inside, but these guys really pack in the contents! Definitely can't complain! Definitely coming back for more!“

“Great empanada flavors, and the lady at the window taking orders is so nice. The restaurant is strictly to go, but there is a bench under a nice tree that you can sit on while waiting for your order. Oh, the onion rings and garlic fries are definitely something to try!“

“Top favorite açaí place. The fruit is always fresh. Açaí is delicious and I must say that the granola they use is amazing. I’ve only ever tried the Cali bowl and would rate it a 9.5/10. Staff is friendly. They didn’t charge me extra for more almond butter. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for an excellent açaí spot.“

“Got the 3 empanada combo looking for a snack not a full meal.
Ranking:
1) mushroom. Had the cheese pull of the day, flavorful, incredible.
2) Mac n cheese. Need I say more? Good Mac in a buttery empanada.
3) samosa. Slightly dry, but good flavor and with the dip the flavors really melded together perfectly.“

“Biggest thing to know is that is cash only. The place is very compact, but homey.
Good food, and well seasoned. Only issue was how expensive it was. Parking is a little tough, but worth it for a little piece of Central America here in LA. Posting the latest menu updates circa 09/2024“
