Cheesesteaks near Camarillo, CA

“I always stop by when I'm at the Camarillo outlets. Years ago, Charleys had a "cordon bleu" on the menu - nothing but turkey, ham & Swiss, but they don't have it on the menu anymore. When it's not busy, I ask for one & always have to explain it. Sometimes, it's like I'm not speaking any language they have ever heard. "OK, give me a turkey & cheddar, but replace 1 slice of turkey w/ 1 slice of ham & instead of cheaddar, use Swiss" - this is usually what works & they look very proud of themselves when they get it right. Which is sort of sweet. I'm always frustrated that they make the sandwich & then the fries, so that while the fries are flesh-searingly hot, the sandwich gets sort of lukewarm, sometimes worse. I do love that they have malt vinegar for your fries. But, the staff is usually very patient, which can turn around to "the staff has no concept of urgency", depending on my mood. It's in a food court, so the cleanliness of the eating area & availability of space is variable.“

“Delicous! Great food. My husband and I shared a whole samdwhich. We chose the steak, cheese, onions, mushroom w/ peppers and added French Fries. I have to say we were plenty full. Both of us then wished we had bought our own, to eat later.Staff was very helpful and friendly. I called my niece to ask her why had she not mentioned this place before? She lives in SP. She had nonidea they reopened after Covid. At first glance the place appeared to be closed the shades were drawn. When inside thankfully they are drawn, keeps the sun out! Not closed, they are definetly OPEN!! Its a must stop when in Santa Paula.Parking: Plenty of parking for sure!Kid-friendliness: We didn't have any kiddos with us but I would assume kid friendly. Seems like a place the whole family would enjoy.“
