We stopped here driving back to Los Angeles and we were glad we did. We sat on the patio with our dog and had breakfast. We both had eggs Benedict (one chorizo and one classic) and they were both delicious. The coffee was excellent as was the service. The prices were very reasonable. I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant.
We walked here after leaving Gayle’s Bakery & Rosticceria, which was too noisy and crowded. Avenue Café is just down the street and turned out to be a good find. The interior is smallish but cozy and fit the bill perfectly. We ordered a couple of burgers with fries—not the fanciest lunch in the world, but just right for two hungry travelers. Friendly service, clean restroom, and a comfortable spot for a casual meal.
I past this restaurant and returned a hour later just before closing. Best decision hands down. I ordered from the breakfast menu a omelet with shrimp and avocados and it was so filling and delicious, it came w/hash browns and toast. I had a traditional mimosa as well. The seating outside is also great for people watching and to bask in the sunshine. The staff are very attentive. Great food and experience.
