I have dined here multiple times in the past, maybe it was off night. Our server was nice, but we saw her once. To take our order. The meal was a C at best. The experience - for Carmel, an F. Personally, my almond crusted halibut was very dry. Two small bites was all I could attempt. The spinach was tasteless. My family said their meal was okay. But the service - wow. We never saw our server again or really much of any others - it's like the place was unattended except dir notches staff taking out meals - and very late meal at that, 740pm, on a 630pm reservation. We didn't get checked on even one time, and the restaurant was not jammed. This was the most disappointing experience I've had in a long time. We had to finally ask for our check; after the guy who cleared our table offered dessert (we didn't have another hour to wait) he did bring the check - but after waiting too long again, we had take it to register to be processed ourselves, just to leave. It's like we're invisible — and this was not an inexpensive meal. Catch is supposed to be a nice restaurant, been in Carmel for years. Ww won't dine here again. It's gone downhill, and very much a disappointment, all the wait around.
Celebratory engagement dinner for my son & now fiancé. The restaurant is small, but they accommodated our party of 22. They reserved the back portion of the restaurant for us. The service was 10/10, had a set menu due to the size of our party, but there was something on the menu for everyone. The owner came around 2-3 times & introduced himself, asked if everything was ok or if we needed anything & thanked us for choosing his restaurant. We cannot thank the owner & his staff for everything they did to help make this such a memorable dinner.
We were looking for good seafood and it's not here! I had the Clam Chowder, thick muck. My husband had the Halibut, completely overcooked. I would not recommend if you're looking for fresh seafood.
Food was unremarkable. Clams overcooked, pasta salty, sea bass was mediocre. Will not return.
Although the setting was charming, the service was very good, and the wine list was nice, unfortunately the food was mediocre at best. The oysters on the half shell had bits of shell in them and were served with lemon wedges and bottled cocktail sauce with bottled horseradish on top. No mignonette. The filet mignon were cooked properly, however the lobster tail was overcooked, lacking drawn butter, and appeared to be frozen not fresh. The halibut was maybe a quarter inch in thickness and was clearly previously frozen, dry, overcooked, and under seasoned. The bed of spinach was four stringy pieces of unseasoned frozen spinach, that was dry and tasteless. The rice pilaf was just white rice with no seasoning. The Cioppino had a few nicely cooked mussels, but the rest was just warmed up frozen fish. It was not even in a broth, but instead just smothered in a bland tomato sauce. It was disappointing at best. The only saving grace was the service. Our waitstaff was gracious and attentive, but even her lovely attitude and attention to detail could not overcome the shear mediocrity and laziness of those who prepared our meal.
Absolutely loved this as a dinner spot! Our server was still training and had the kindest demeanor and his trainer was just as great! We had the clam chowder, fish tacos, pizza, and cocktails - we loved everything! The owner made introductions around the dining room and we were served complimentary champagne and caviar which made this feel even more special. By the end of the night we felt like we were friends with the staff, they are all so kind. 5/5 for food and service!
Lobster Risotto!!! Good times and great service. Loved the ambiance and the guitar player was a nice touch!
Amazing food and service! Dog friendly. Highly recommend.
Loved the calamari app and grilled kampachi main. Everything was well seasoned and executed.
We are so glad we chose this as the restaurant for our wedding night! They had our table ready for our reservation time, with candles and a vase. Our server was wonderful and so attentive. We were offered complimentary champagne and caviar (it appears that everyone else received the same!). Our dinner was delicious. I had the salmon, my husband had the lobster. We had the chocolate cake for dessert, and it was also divine! There was a guitarist that walked around and he was wonderful as well. Such a beautiful dinner, and it was the perfect way to end our evening! Highly recommend!

Friendly and attentive staff who go above and beyond providing outstanding service and quality food and drinks,
Food was wonderful, the ambiance perfect. Our new favorite restaurant! There were so many great dishes to choose from we'll be back regularly to try them all!
Very nice meal on a quiet, mid-May Thursday evening. Sat by the open window, which was nice. Food was quite good - very fresh, full of taste, generous portions, and nicely presented. Service was outstanding - just the right amount of interaction. The guitar player was nice ... not too obtrusive nor loud during our visit. Overall, we'd dine here again when back in Carmel-by-the-Sea.
This place has a perfect blend of impeccable service, delicious food and adorable ambiance. We were greeted by a woman a few minutes before our reservation time with the friendliest and warmest smile. The extensive menu took me awhile to decide but thanks to Mina, our server, we ended up with the crab cakes for the appetizer. What a treat! They came with a corn relish and red drops ..a very small pepper from Lebanon which added just the perfect amount of crunch and tanginess. The halibut I had was perfectly cooked and the clam chowder/crab louie my husband had looked quite tasty. I'm not sure what stood out to me more - Mina's attention to his perfectly timed service, or the quality of our dinner. Either way, this is a stop we will make again.
One of our very favorite places in Carmel! we love the fresh fish dishes (all are great!) The Frutti do Mare is my favorite!!! A must go to when you visit Carmel!
