This restaurant is the perfect stop after a relaxing walk along the beach. The atmosphere is inviting, and the live music and singing add a special, personal touch that really elevates the entire dining experience.

Dinner was delicious. The almond crusted halibut was perfect. Service was wonderful and the champagne and caviar to start was a nice surprise. We have a new favorite in Carmel.

Opentable Diner

We ate dinner at Catch in Carmel on a friend recommendation on a Wednesday and a finer experience we could not have imagined. As we were seated, a spoonful of caviar and a tiny glass of champagne were set in the middle of the table for each of us to enjoy. We each ordered something different and our food was absolutely outstanding. Our entrees were: lobster tail (2), sand dabs, cioppino, calamari appetizer and crusted halibut. We each raved about our food, noting each plate was ample. The service was second to none which only added to our pleasurable dining experience. There were five of us and we decided that we could come to Catch every week for five nights and enjoy a different entree each time. AND THE PRICES WERE Very palatable, which was a happy surprise. If you're thinking about a restaurant in Carmel, this one is a must!

I was on vacation and just passing through town. It was around 8:00 p.m. Most businesses appeared to be closed by then, and the town itself felt very quiet, with only a few people outdoors. Catch, however, was open until 10:00 p.m. and pleasantly uncrowded. The guests inside looked comfortable, cheerful, and relaxed.
The lighting was soft and romantic—not too bright—and I absolutely loved the jellyfish lamps. The background music was calming and at a perfect volume, allowing for easy, comfortable conversation. The waiter was friendly and attentive, engaging warmly with guests and making everyone feel welcome.
Shortly after I was seated, I was pleasantly surprised with complimentary bread paired with balsamic vinegar and olive oil, along with champagne and caviar. I had never tried caviar before, and it was much better than I expected. A few minutes later, a gentleman came out and played a couple of songs on the guitar before leaving. The music sounded foreign—possibly Spanish—and added a romantic touch to the evening.
I ordered the salmon, which was cooked perfectly. Overall, it was a truly enjoyable dining experience. Catch is a beautiful and romantic restaurant, and I highly recommend giving it a try.

I'm really disappointed, mostly because of how accessibility was handled. When we arrived, the accessible entrance/accessible path was blocked by other diners, with chairs and bodies fully in the way. We asked staff for help so a wheelchair could pass. Instead of addressing it or asking the diners to stand for a moment, we were basically left to figure it out ourselves. No one offered to clear the path, no one stepped in to create a safe route, and it turned what should've been a normal entrance into an awkward and stressful situation. Accessibility isn't a “nice to have”—it's basic, and it's on the restaurant to keep accessible routes usable. On top of that, the service was exceptionally slow, and our table was largely ignored for long stretches. Food and atmosphere aside, I can't recommend a place that treats wheelchair access as optional. If you use a wheelchair or have mobility needs, be aware.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Catch. My wife and I started with the crab cakes and jumbo prawns, both excellent! They also serve bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar for dipping. My wife had the lobster risotto and I had the sand dabs both (we always share) and both were delicious, well prepared and presented. The risotto was cheesy and scallops and shrimp on top of it, verrrry good! My sand dabs were cooked perfect and came piccata style, great! We finished with the tiramisu and port. The tiramisu was very good. The port was delicious and the perfect cap for the dinner. A gentleman came through playing a guitar, nice addition to the already very nice ambience. Really liked the atmosphere. Great place for seafood and don't let the open tables fool you, it's just a great kept secret in Carmel.

Very poor. Website says happy hour 330-530. Get there they say it's holiday so no HR. We're there 340 gave us lunch menus as we had said we'd eat early since no HR. Res was 5. Trying to decide wine before. 2 other tables had people. He comes back says sorry have to use dinner menu. Told him we're leaving. Too much switching of everything! Such a disappointment. We come to town often as we own locally.

Good food, nice atmosphere, polite and excellent services. We enjoyed everything we ordered: clamchowder and chicken soup, fish and chips, grilled fish, desert. We also got complimentary sparkling wine and spoon of a black caviar. Good for a romantic date. Beautiful restaurant.

The service was very good. We both had steak and lobster; the filets were prepared perfectly and the lobster was succulent. It was an excellent meal. We will return!

The Caesar salad was mediocre, nothing special. I don't know why it is so difficult to make a delicious Caesar salad. The lobster was delicious. The filet mignon was a little tough. I wanted everything to be spectacular. I'm was excited to eat there, but disappointed. I want it to be a great seafood restaurant on the peninsula. But it's mediocre. I think an exceptional cheft can create an exceptional seafood restaurant, after working through its problems. Best of luck!

The service was impersonal and entree's were unimpressive. The calamari appetizer was probably the best thing there as far as food. There was live music and that was awesome. When we made the reservation we stayed it was for an anniversary and there was no acknowledgment of it, but there was a big “to do” for the birthday table next to us. Do I care about the acknowledgment of the anniversary, no, not really, but when you make a reservation and the establishment asks if there is a special occasion then I assume it is because they will in some way have an acknowledgment of the occasion. This is not place we will revisit

My meal was not good and my husband was just okay. The place is nice the ambiance is good. The prices are high . This is only the second time that I rated a place this low. I expected the food to be better for the price. I don't like to give low reviews but wanted to be honest. Hopefully they will improve.

I so enjoy the sparkling Prosecco and the caviar upon arrival. White staff excellent service and the food delicious. I've been here several times and I've never been disappointed.
