Lamb shank was the best of the dishes we got but food overall is average. A bit cramped but very friendly and lively inside. Make reservations, they’re always busy.

When we got to the place it was renamed to Carmel’s Fish House. We were a group of 10 people and ordered a wide range of food including fish and chips ( great taste), grilled salmon ( was great) surf and turf ( a good taste of steak and crab), and vegi pasta ( not good) meatball and shrimp pasta not good. The place came with a complementary Champaign and Caviar. To sum up, I liked the food and I recommend the place!

We arrived in Carmel by the Sea late at night and we just wanted to have a quick snack. The restaurantes where almost all closed and we decided to go in this one that was opened. The prices were extremely expensive for the kind of dishes, and a glass of regular wine was around 15$ The quantity of the dishes was small and the service not nice, so we do not recommend this place as the place to go in Carmel. Not even if you come late at night!

We visited at lunch and had an amazing, well-portioned and reasonably priced meal. The staff was knowledgeable in recommendations. To top it off, there was complimentary delish baklava to finish the meal.

This was an amazing restaurant to have lunch at. I got the ravioli and it was fabulous. The rest of my family got lamb gyros and they loved the lamb as well. The service was great and the food came pretty fast too. The only 2 downsides is that is a smaller restaurant so during food hours it will be crowded and you might have to wait. The other downside is that the portions for the pasta section seem to be small though. Overall the food was great. Definitely recommend this restaurant in Carmel

The menu has lots of Greek/Mediterranean options - something to please everyone. Our meals were very tasty and well prepared and there was a nice wine selection for pairing with them. The staff was very busy and engaged - and the occasional singing to celebrate a special occasion was very fun.

Middle Eastern restaurant serves Lebanese, Turkish and Greek food with a twist if I may say. The food we have ordered for dinner tonight was average, I have tasted far better than this but doesn't mean bad. The lady whom receiving customers was so nice in personality and very helpful her name is (Rusul). Service is good but slow may be was crowded during dinner, two entertainers played music which make the atmosphere lively. Recommend

Want really authentic delicious Greek food and a fun night out? Go here. The teamwork by the staff has the customers needs in mind. Everyone helps one another. The food was delicious and the entertainment delightful.

I have tried many restaurants in Carmel for lunch and this is the best one by far!! My husband and I shared a salad and cioppino. The food was delicious, fish was fresh, and the portions were generous. The waitstaff were excellent and checked in with us frequently. The restaurant was full on a Tuesday which says something about the popularity. Bread with oil and vinegar was brought as a starter. A complimentary small baklava was brought after the meal. As we walked to the beach I encouraged a couple considering a nearby restaurant to go to Dametra’s. There is a 3.5% charge to use a credit card so we paid in cash.

We visited based on positive Trip Advisor reviews. We were not disappointed. I had artichoke ravioli. The waitress warned me there would be lots of garlic.Good I said. The large portion of ravioli (10? 15?) was swimming in sauce and topped with lots of slivers of Parmesan. At first I thought there was too much sauce but then I tasted it. It was fabulous. One of my favorite pasta dishes anywhere. I ordered mint tea instead of wine. A good choice. It is a Mediterranean drink in a Mediterranean restaurant. My husband wasn’t hungry and just had a salad with blue cheese and apples and walnuts. I loved my pasta and wish I were taking g another night so I could order it again.

Well, we picked this place because we love Mediterranean food and it has a Michelin Star. But, gotta say, the food was good! Not Michelin Star good but good! Very fair prices. Hummus very good. Tzaziki - no taste. Grape leaves good! Greek salad - basic. Gyro - good (a little dry). Chicken - basic. Overall good food GREAT service but didn't get the Michelin star. ??

Walk in for lunch. Food was delicious we had lamb gyros and chicken swarma. Fresh salad arrived with both. Good service from the waiters and we opted to not have a dessert, they bought us a little taster on the house of a baklava dessert which was so nice. I highly recommend this restaurant it will not diss appointment. The prices are also very fair.

Great experience! Wonderful evening! Hostess gave us a better table than initially sat at, server was awesome and the food was fabulous. The appetizer platter, lamb kebabs, baklava and mint tea were all amazing, The music was fun and the entire staff made the evening so enjoyable with dancing between the tables. It was truly a memorable evening! We will definitely return on our next visit to Carmel. Well done Dametra!!!

We picked this restaurant due to its great reviews and our love of Greek food. We tried a walk up on Sunday night with no luck so we reserved for Monday night and we’re really looking forward to it. Reception hostess was a bit disinterested but led us through a really crowded restaurant to our table. The serving staff were pleasant and took our order quickly. There was lots to choose from that we liked the look of, prices were high but no surprise in Carmel. We all enjoyed our food and portions were generous but within 5 minutes of our meal arriving the guitar playing started. I have sat in Greek tavernas whilst a guitar is strummed gently in the back ground and it’s lovely but this was plugged to an amp and it was so loud we couldn’t speak to each other. Some people got up and danced but there wasn’t the room really and considering covid I didn’t want people dancing around my table. We had almost finished eating by the time he stopped playing, looking around there were others who didn’t enjoy their meal being disturbed so brutally. We skipped dessert so we could get out before he started again as my friend actually found the noise painful. By the way they charge you 3% extra if you don’t pay by cash. This could have been great but our lovely meal was completely ruined.

My wife and I are on a west coast trip celebrating our retirement. The inn recommended 2 places but both we closed for private events. We stumbled upon the Dametra Cafe. This busy little establishment was bustling, filled with happy couples and small groups. The menu was certainly Greek in nature. A broad sampling of greek classics. We had a Tzatziki starter with freshly made pita as well as a sour dough bread with oil & vinegar. My wife had chicken kabobs with veg, rice pilaf, and greek salad. She loved it!! I had the lamb kabob, ordered medium rare, it came cooked to perfection with each bite of lamb served identically medium rare. The veg was well done, the rice aromatic and delicious. We both ate well and were filled. The staff was excellent, entertainment was fun and got everyone in the mood. This is our new favorite restaurant in Carmel, California.
