7 Best Barbeque Restaurants in Chico

“Last Friday, we came by to rent a storage unit and ended up staying for a late lunch at CJ's. What a hidden gem in north Chico! It's no frills counter service, with a large dining room, and open kitchen. I appreciate being able to see the clean kitchen & prep area with my own eyes. I ordered a grilled chicken salad - it was huge, overflowing with tons of fresh toppings. The staff was hustling through a rush, and yet they were all so attentive and nice. CJ's is a Pepsi establishment, which makes my Diet Coke loving heart a little sad... but the food more than makes up for it. Now I need to time my storage unit runs around lunch hour so I can work my way through the menu! A burger will be next :)“

“I think their restaurant is permanently closed and they only do catering now, but I wanted to leave a review because these guys and Mo's were the best BBQ places in town and now they're both gone. Honestly, I actually don't think there are any BBQ places left now. This place was amazing, 10/10 and their meats were always juicy on the inside with a nice char on the outside. They will be sorely missed.“

“The rack of ribs are tender and the sauce is so good. The best ribs I've had in a good while.The mac and cheese has great flavor and is seasoned nicely. It has a little kick but it isn't spicy. It is definitely the best mac and cheese I've had from a restaurant. Definitely will try other items next time. I also enjoyed the apple, beet, and ginger juice.“

“I ordered online through their website. When I arrived, I was told there was no order for me. I showed them that my bank was charged. They advised I dispute with my bank and just reorder. I ordered a second time, but was very disappointed in their lack of customer service!“

“Great place! Tasty spirits and very reasonable prices for how much booze you get. Yeah... if you want to party, come here. Seems like there's a popular venue in the same parking lot and they get a lot of their business. Really enjoyed the dark moonshine!“

“The food is always great, I was shocked to see bad reviews because we’ve never had bad food here and order a big variety. The wait staff is always great, and a side note I loved seeing the owners son there, he kept locking the door and it was cracking us up because we also have an autistic son absolutely obsessed with locking doors non stop, seriously for Christmas we just got him a bunch of locks and keys 😂

But I love the family environment, the prices are totally reasonable and the food is always delicious!“

“First ever visit and more then likely my last......I was only there to rent a U-Haul from the store but I can say it's a very cool and interesting place to stop by looks like they have a bit of everything and the lady I spoke with was nice and friendly and very professional got us checked in and confirmed and outta there in no time we were driving off. Nice place!“
