7 Best Barbeque Restaurants in Chico

“Last Friday, we came by to rent a storage unit and ended up staying for a late lunch at CJ's. What a hidden gem in north Chico! It's no frills counter service, with a large dining room, and open kitchen. I appreciate being able to see the clean kitchen & prep area with my own eyes. I ordered a grilled chicken salad - it was huge, overflowing with tons of fresh toppings. The staff was hustling through a rush, and yet they were all so attentive and nice. CJ's is a Pepsi establishment, which makes my Diet Coke loving heart a little sad... but the food more than makes up for it. Now I need to time my storage unit runs around lunch hour so I can work my way through the menu! A burger will be next :)“

“I think their restaurant is permanently closed and they only do catering now, but I wanted to leave a review because these guys and Mo's were the best BBQ places in town and now they're both gone. Honestly, I actually don't think there are any BBQ places left now. This place was amazing, 10/10 and their meats were always juicy on the inside with a nice char on the outside. They will be sorely missed.“

“The rack of ribs are tender and the sauce is so good. The best ribs I've had in a good while.The mac and cheese has great flavor and is seasoned nicely. It has a little kick but it isn't spicy. It is definitely the best mac and cheese I've had from a restaurant. Definitely will try other items next time. I also enjoyed the apple, beet, and ginger juice.“

“This place is as close to Hawaii as it gets in Chico. Speaking for the Garlic Shrimp and Rice Plate combo. I haven’t tried the Poke yet but every-time I come I order the Garlic Shrimp. It never fails to amaze my tastes buds! I would definitely recommend those who love seafood to order this plate it’s jam packed with flavor! But be warned will leave your fingers messy so grab extra napkins and don’t wear white!“

“Great place! Tasty spirits and very reasonable prices for how much booze you get. Yeah... if you want to party, come here. Seems like there's a popular venue in the same parking lot and they get a lot of their business. Really enjoyed the dark moonshine!“

“I have had many hamburgers and french fries and macaroni and cheese all over the place and sliders has the best. Play make my food exactly how I want it and they always do it with a smile. They are so awesome keep up the good work guys and you always have me as a customer.“

“First ever visit and more then likely my last......I was only there to rent a U-Haul from the store but I can say it's a very cool and interesting place to stop by looks like they have a bit of everything and the lady I spoke with was nice and friendly and very professional got us checked in and confirmed and outta there in no time we were driving off.
