“The staff is amazing, the food is delicious and the atmosphere is awesome. It’s such a cool old building with lots of history. The owner did a really good job of capturing the history of the town in the decor. The chicken hawk fried chicken sandwich is my absolute favorite! Next favorite is the Volcano (you better like spicy if you order this one)! I also love that they always have a bowl of peanuts and you toss the shells on the ground. 100% recommend his small town burger joint!“

Since their move down to Alta Sierra, the magic has only grown. The new owners, Barbara M. and David M., have elevated everything while keeping the heart of the place intact. And the staff? They feel like family. Amy and Dakota are truly the best—warm, attentive, and always smiling. The food is authentically and consistently delicious. Their chile rellenos (baked, not fried!) are perfection, and the fish tacos are flat-out unbelievable. Whenever my family comes up from Silicon Valley, Casa Las Katarinas is always our first stop. From my veggie wife, to our vegan daughters, to our meat-loving sons-in-laws—everyone finds something they love. Absolutely a must-go. One of those rare places that just keeps getting better.“
