The latest reply posted by South Pointe is untrue. There was a single yellow post it on the door with two words on it, "On Lunch." It referenced no departure or return times. I would have taken a photo of it had I known you'd try to lie about it. Also, when I got up to the door of the office a heavily pregnant woman, who'd walked from her apartment in the complex with her rent check approached and stood there with me for a couple of minutes to see if any of your staff members would return. After waiting about 5 minutes (and chatting about the absurdity of the situation) we both left, as we had no way of knowing when someone would be back. As far as signing up to pay online, unless it has changed since we signed our lease at the beginning of this year, they use an auto-pay system that debits your payment from your account automatically. If it were set up like any other bill pay system where I could go in on the day of my choosing (on or before the 1st, of course) and initiate payment manually, I would no doubt do that. I pay all of my other bills online. As it is though, I couldn't get a straight answer on what day of the month payments are debited and didn't want to run the risk that they would attempt to debit the account before my paycheck hits. But yes, next time, I'll be sure to call the office DURING YOUR POSTED BUSINESS HOURS to make sure that someone will actually be there to take my payment on the last day of the month. Let the record show that your answer to inconveniencing your tenants is to inconvenience them further by making us take this extra step. Do better, South Pointe. And for heaven's sake, tell the truth.

I did reach out to corporate through email and phone before and they began to ignore me. Name is under Kai W. at Apartment E207. I'm still waiting to see what corporate can do about our situation because whether something was signed or not, the integrity of promising to give what we paid for should be kept. So what if Jennifer was quick to fool me, rip off our paint, take back the hinge replacements we were supposed to have and distract me from everything else we never got that we PAID for. We paid 1,875 a month for 2 months of work that was unfinished. 2 months of inhabitable living with termites, wasps, peeling floor tiles, dead bugs, dirt, half painted walls, dirty AC filter, AC vent that didn't even function well, a big LEAF was painted over on our patio. Over time he paint on the patio started peeling when the leaf got lifted off the floor because it was painted over. If you still have my number on file, call me to discuss what you guys could still do for the 2 months of rent I feel robbed of. If anything I'll try and give corporate another chance and email AND call them again. And if nothing is done about this situation still, my review of south pointe will remain the same. I've given so many chances for you guys to own up to this and corporate ignoring me does not make matters any better. You guys knew we wanted to move in at the end of of the month and management kept pushing us to move in during the middle of the month. Would it make sense to make someone move in early only to not have everything finished and then them blame us in the office saying we could have not signed the paper and ask to move in later? Because that's what we were told and I wonder if you guys considered how inconvenient that is for us and the uhaul we had to rent and time off we had to take. What if you didn't make us move in earlier? Would we have nowhere to go because you didn't have the apartment ready in time? Don't make us feel like we can't get the apartment we wanted if we didn't move in two weeks earlier and not have it ready or habitable to live in... there's so much wrong with that and it really makes me question the integrity of south pointe and what morals you stand by... I was told by maintenance that management has done this to others too but I'm not sure how often you think it's ok to get away with it. Money to pay 1,800+ in rent isn't easy for everyone but when they do pay so much the least they can hope for is to be given what they promised. That's all.

EVERYONE SHOULD NOTICED WHAT KIND OF COMMUNITY HAS JUST TWO STARS ON YELP!? If as they said, I've already known my budget could not get the upgraded unit then how could I would still expected it would look as the same as the model? Doesn't make any sense. TOTALLY A LIE. Let me make it clear. I found this community information on Facebook. So I made appointment and went check it out. Andrew was the leasing consultant who helped me for the first time. He showed a nice model unit as which I had seen online. But he's never mentioned any upgraded or degraded units in South Point Apartment. Subsequently, he suggested an unit which is quite and bright as what I requested but unavailable to show yet because someone was still living there. He told me it looks exactly the same as the model which he had showed me. Therefore, I paid the application. Shortly, I went to sign the lease. I've asked two different staffs of the management to confirm that's what I'm looking for. And they both told me the same things as what Andrew had said. Till the day I moved in, A NIGHTMARE! This also proves that this entire management is a scam. They will try to do everything to get you to move in. CHEATS AND LIARS. WATCH OUT! DON'T BE THE NEXT VICTIM. STAY AWAY FROM SOUTH POINT.

This place is a SCAM !!! Beware. I put a place on hold due to a huge leak at my previous property. It was taking long to fix so I put a hold on a unit at South Pointe. I ended up staying at my old property and terminated the hold at South Pointe. I paid $250 and still haven't received the hold fee back for over two months of talking to several people in the company. Terrible company... they have so much turn over with employees so your constantly speaking to someone new that doesn't know anything ! Ridiculous. Steer away from here!!

I have lived in several apartment complexes in my day and this one is hands down the BEST!!! I put a work order in and within 45 minutes I had a knock on my door. The grounds are continually trimmed making it a pleasure to come home. I have met several people here that have lived here for 10 years! That has to say something about the property. I see yelp as a place where people can b**** about something THEY did wrong and want to blame others for there actions. This place has been nothing but a pleasure for us. We walk to the lab all the time and have a blast. The freeway is incredible close. I am a current resident and plan on being here until we can afford to buy a house. Do not second guess this place and move in before someone else takes advantage of this perfect community!

One of my vehicles was stolen from here. I was parked in overflow parking and mind you this is a "gated" community where they claim they have "security" patrolling. On the date my truck got stolen another truck was also broken into but they weren't able to to steal it because it wasn't running. The main manager (I forget her name) up at the leasing office was no help whatsoever. The manager claims there are cameras but in all reality there are only two and they are located upfront. If I could rate this apartment complex at zero stars I would, but unfortunately I can't. I can't stress this enough but the manager was no help at all. 10/10 do not recommend residing here, you're vehicles will get stolen and management will be no help at all.

After living at this complex for 3 years and actually loving the location and the apartments were...decent, leaving a review like this wasn't something I thought I'd be doing. Due to personal reasons I had to move out of my apartment a month early. Doing so, this left my roommate to take care of our last months rent. I had to come into the leasing office to sign off on our 30 day notice. While in the process of signing, the woman who was in charge unprofessionally tried to pry information out of me as to why I moved out so suddenly and wanted to know the "drama." This was a month ago and it still bothers me as to why someone who WORKS there would be super nosey and ask about my personal life. It is none of your business. I let it go... up until today. I received a call (today is the end of the lease agreement) from a woman who called me not exactly knowing why she called me. After answering the phone she goes "Is this Jennifer? From (Apt#)?" as I answered "Yes" she then went into a panic mode stating "I didn't mean to call you, are you moving out? Oh wait, you're not on the lease, I didn't mean to call you." My name is on the lease, contractually, it's just my roommate took over payment the last month due to personal reasons for myself. I asked what the reason for the call was and the woman continued to panic and not know what was going on. The phone call ended because she could not answer any of my questions. From the woman prying into my personal life and literally putting me into anxiety mode, to the other woman randomly calling me and not knowing why, I will tell you, if you want to live at this complex, the people working in the office are unprofessional and don't know what they are doing. I am happy I am finally out of there. If you do live here, hopefully nothing happens to you where you have to deal with the leasing office.

I have Lived here 7 months now and absolutely love it! I would personally Like to thank Edward, the ELD, and Anna for always responding promptly and efficiently. These two have made my stay here unbelievable. Please make sure you ask for either one of them. I know you will be in the right hands!

Many things were broken when i first moved in, vent fan in the bathroom doesn't do anything besides make noise so all mirrors and even windows in the room fog up. Bathroom mirrors probably have to be cleaned everyday because water always streaks down and stains the mirror from bad ventilation. Because of the bad ventilation you have to shower with the bedroom windows open and fan on so it can get very cold while showering. If this isn't done mold will form very quickly, I even remember signing a form about mold in the apartments. That's how bad the problem is that every apartment gets mold and so many people complained they had to make a whole form for people to sign so they couldn't take legal action or end lease early without added fees. Their plumbing company also is very bad, first day moving in noticed water leak in shower had to call maintenance then they called the buildings water plumber who didn't come for another few days and had to come twice to finish the shop meaning shower didn't work for almost a week. Another thing to note is that this is one of the only apartments I looked at that didn't have a microwave or fridge, microwave must be purchased and refrigerator may be rented and paid monthly. Gate is also very pointless since it's broken most of the time. Also Be careful apartment staff pretend to be very friendly but don't actually care about the tenants. And if you want to live in an apartment where you or your friends and family's car won't get towed, then please please don't move here. Management has a deal with the towing companies, they call them often to tow cars with no warning at 2am, in order to make extra money. I saw them towing 2 cars and the next morning my car and my girlfriends were gone. That's 4 cars that I know of but could be a dozen, and I see the tow trucks once or twice a week. Seems like they have a shady deal with them in order to make more money because they tow many cars on at least a weekly basis. I should also include that I am a resident and my name is under the lease, my car is also registered under my name on the lease. However even though the leasing office knew it was my car since they have my make/model/license plate number on record, regardless I was still towed. So if you don't want to worry about paying $300-$400 for no reason because your car was towed even though you're a resident, then don't move here. Also would like to note that apartment staff named Anna lied to me and said that the neighbors are the ones that call the tow companies and I don't have to be worry about being towed unless a resident calls the car in. However the fact that they towed so many cars on a weakly basis shows that the apartment management has a general authorization contract with the tow company allowing them to come whenever they please. That goes on to prove my point that apartments staff just lie to get you to move in, because when I complained with the tow company they in fact told me that the apartment management gave them authorization. I believe that they lie about this because many people complain and write bad reviews about their car being towed. Because management knows most people now days read reviews of an apartments they're looking to rent, then by telling the future residents your car only gets towed if a neighbor calls it in it makes them ignore the bad reviews about residents cars being towed because how often do fellow neighbors take the time to look for the parking permit and call tow companies for an unreserved spot? Why would anyone want to live somewhere where they can't trust the apartment staff. Also basically no parking for guests all parking spots inside are for residents, so having friends or family over can be a big problem you'll probably have to pick them up from a parking spot too far to walk. All employees and management puts up a facade. I have lived in 2 other apartment in Costa Mesa and looked at 7

Looks like this place may be on the upswing! I'm now heading into my 8th year of living here and it seems like some changes in property management staff may have kickstarted an uptick in customer service. Recently we discovered that the main pool was heated (in the middle of December!) A great improvement! They also finally finished the new gym (it seriously took them the better part of a year to transition the old Rec room to the new gym.) It looks great, the equipment is nice and new and it's rarely busy. There are still a few small issues that are keeping me from giving five stars (including the fact that the rain gutters above our apartment door have not been cleaned since we moved into this unit and now when it rains the water pours out of it like a fountain onto our doorstep and even leaks into the apartment when it rains really hard - this even though we put in a service request for it every time it rains), but we're giving the new staff a chance to get settled and resolve some of these longer-standing issues. Just signed our new lease, so we're hopeful that they're on the right track!

I'm so happy I moved here by the end of November 2018. So far, I love this place. It's very nice, clean, quiet, safe, and organized. I visited too many places when I was looking for an apartment, South Pointe was and still is the best. The price is affordable compare to other places around. Carlos in the leasing office is very kind and helpful. With his help, I found a very nice 2-bedroom 2-bathroom apartment with a promotion.

lol to start off this place is absolutely horrible, parking is a joke. neighbors are nosey and rude and the management is an absolute joke. I've had the worst experience living here, considering they showed us a very nice remodeled apartment and then when they handed us the keys and asking prior to signing if it was the same thing and they said yes. i walked in and that was the worst looking apartment i've ever seen. Appliances were a joke. constant problems with my bathtub and sink. water randomly is turned off so you never know if you'll be able to shower before work! your neighbors also just walk into your house without even asking. seriously run away from this place it's f****** horrible.

I've lived here for almost a year now and can honestly say I love it. It's extremely clean and pretty quiet for the most part and walking distance to some of my favorite restaurants! The area is just incredible! The gym is great and clean and usually pretty empty. My only complaint would be the parking. Unfortunately the spaces are very tight and my car has accumulated some scratches and dents but thank goodness it's not a luxury car. Overall this is a great place to live and I will hopefully be staying a couple more years.
