Family of 8 reservations at 5:30. Received text at 5:16 our table was ready. Sent response back we were on the way. First half of the party came and checked in. I arrived with my family of 5 promptly at 5:30 informed front wait staff we had arrived. Sat down in the bar/ waiting area, hardly anyone around. More groups started coming in. About 15 mins had passed, husband decided to check what's taking so long. They informed they sat us already. Obviously we were just waiting. They told us we were next for a table. 2 families got called ahead of us and was sat. We got called brought to the left side of the restaurant with another family of 3. The hostess said this will fit 8 people. Looked at her and the family of 3 sitting down and told her they weren't apart of our party and the family got out complained and that she had called them. Apparently people just start saying yes to any name. She said another party she had sat down was saying they were my name which wasn't true. I have a distinct name so somehow they managed to get by. After that fiasco, our server and chef managed to restore our faith back into Benihana. Food was great, chef excellent and server just the sweetest. Reluctantly would go back.
Prices are moderate to high, but food quality is very high. Overall, a pleasant experience.
Made to wait for a table , when seated, they took the order, and the chef did not show up for over 45 minutes, by the time we finished and left it was 11:15 PM (The place closes at 10)
A good place to sit and enjoy some entertainment while eating. A little pricy, but I was ok to pay it. The waiter was on point that day... while I also noticed other waiters weren't. Our cook was a bit lackluster, and reminded me of someone in their first month of training. Meanwhile I also noticed other table cooks were a lot better. It was enjoyable. I probably won't go again, unless the mood strikes me. Had a good time. I'd say, go once and experience it. Can't commit to two.
This was a birthday dinner and Benihana's did not disappoint! In our group we had, Steak Teriyaki, chicken and shrimp, the trio and chicken fried rice. Every dish was superb! Benihana's is great for a festive event.
Chef was excellent, cooked everything to the correct temperature perfect. We had a gluten free diner (mostly soy sauce) and got modifications to ensure they didn't get cross contaminated by cooling their food first on a clean grill. Pricey but the quality of the ingredients made it worth it along with the bday certificate...;-)
Our reservation was at 8pm and we arrived at 7:45. At which time the hostess said they will seat us right away. After several times complaining about the wait time we were finally seated at 8:45. The grill had food particles on it from the previous customers. When my food arrived the salad had hair in it. I informed the staff and they just brought a new one without any apology. The facility was dirty and it is not kept in good standard. All the bathrooms were out of toilet paper. It was just too much of a mess and too chaotic. The only reason we stayed through dinner was because most restaurants were closed to walk ins by the time they sat us. I will never go there again.
This was our first trip to Benihana. Obviously, we used the Open Table app. The term “reservation” seems loose here in the Bay Area. I don't get it. We waited an hour from the time of our reservation to the time we were seated. This is the second time this has happened. It's not like this elsewhere. Upon being seated, the experience was enjoyable. Drinks are very expensive, however. Two coladas were more than $40! We ordered the Samurai Treat and split it, along with a crunchy roll. We were advised by the server to get an extra order of fried rice, but it was unnecessary. There's plenty of rice for two unless you're just famished. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our server was super sweet, but she was overwhelmed. They were obviously understaffed. She did the best she could. The food and show were fantastic! We'll definitely do it again, but probably not on a Saturday night.
We made a. reservation and we were there 5 min before the reservation time. But we had to wait for 50min. It was Saturday dinner so it is expected to be crowded but the reservation did not seem to work. When we sit at the table, the table were not cleaned after the previous dining. Dishes were not clean having some tiny bit of food left over. The ambient were very noisy. I've been to this location for 10+ times and the food was the most salty this time.
Wonderful experience. Had requested two tables adjacent to each other and while not guaranteed it turned out just fine! We were sat in the very back room table 14 & 15, which was perfect for our large party. Easy to hear and engage with everyone across both tables. Service was great as usual.

Too long of a wait for having reservations. Otherwise, the food and service was excellent! Rin is an amazing server! Our chef was great too!

An incredible dining experience with massive portions and refined flavors. The atmosphere is vibrant and the staff goes out of their way to assist you. I feel very full and content. Compared to last year, the seasoning is much more balanced and exciting. The decor is stunning and creates a great mood for dining. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for high-quality food and excellent, attentive service.
