Hong Fu

The restaurant is closing on 6/22 according to the Latino busboy who made his way from table to table to tell all the diners. He also handed out the business card of another Chinese restaurant. No other Chinese wait staff was doing it. We wonder why?! The quality of the food seemed to remain the same. The service was the same lacking. Nothing seemed to have changed yet.

I love Chinese cuisine. Although my favorite local Chinese restaurant is Chef Chu's over in Los Altos ( Hong Fu was one of the first Chinese restaurants I went to around here way back in the late 90s some 20 years ago. In the last 20 years, many businesses in this shopping center have come and gone, but Hong Fu (and I think Pier 1) is one of the only businesses still here from back then. My family has been coming here for years and have always enjoyed the food here. We like their northern style Chinese dishes as well as their Chinese American ones. My family celebrated Mother's Day here with a delicious lunch. It was packed, but our food still came out quickly. Some of our favorite dishes were the Peking Duck, Mushu pork, sautéed squash and Stir fried rice cake. My boys also loved the salt and pepper pork.
