My wife and I went to eat after we got off work to have a midnight date. The atmosphere was nice, there weren't to many people. The person waiting on us seemed new but he did his job right, and the food was a bit cool but it was good. I would have asked them to reheat it but I was starving.
Worst experience with this IHOPTo be fair the food was decent. The service by this particular woman was nasty!! My boyfriend and I were seated immediately by a nice man . Our waitress Maria took our drink order, brought our coffee and was ready to take our order. I wasn't ready just yet so she came back shortly and asked again a which time I said give me one more min. She came back a few mins later looking bothered, I thought maybe she's dealing with something. I asked what's in the veggie omelette she said well... looks like mushrooms... Ummm (I thought well yes it shows that in the picture) I felt like she was saying "what you see is what you get!" She then said with attitude well...let me look it up. I said great. I decided to ignore her attitude...again I thought maybe she's having a bad day. I ordered the omelette, and my boyfriend ordered his omelette. My boyfriends omelette arrived in good time with an extra plate which I thought was odd. I patiently waited for my omelette to arrive, but it never did. I thought you know what it's okay I actually wasn't that hungry anyway and my boyfriend probably wont finish his food so we shared. 20 mins passed and Maria never came back to refill our coffee or check on us so I got up and asked another waitress if she could kindly bring us coffee and to clean plates or ask our waitress to come by please. This young girl who's name I think started with a K had such a kind, soft, courteous, beautiful attitude, and she quickly brought us what we asked for without hesitation kudos to "K". Some time after we got our coffee refill, Maria re-apeared and asked if we needed anything and I replied, no we're good we got our coffee. Maria replied, yeah I know (with a snotty attitude) and left. We next saw her when she dropped off the bill. We put cash on the table as she came by to pick it up. Maria got the money and stood closely pressed up against our table and asked if we needed change. We said yes, please. She stood pressed against the table with her apron over the our table fumbling through her cash huffing and puffing for several minutes as if pretending not to be able to find the appropriate amount and or implying to keep our change for her tip at least that's the vibe I got. We gave her over 15% tip which I thought was more than generous considering . Keeping the change would have meant a 25% tip for her terrible unjust service Honestly she deserved less but I know she has to make a living.I did end up calling the restaurant after I left because I thought maybe she had charged us for the extra omelette I ordered and never got. I spoke to a man who really didn't know what I was talking about, he asked if I knew who our server was, and of course I said, yes. Maria got on the phone and said she didn't know who I was so I described exactly where I had been sitting only 15 minutes ago with my boyfriend. She then remembered. I asked her if she had accidentally overcharged us for the omelette I never got. She said "you never ordered another omelette and plus you guys took an entire day to order your food so....." . I said excuse me??? . She then said "well you took forever!". I was stumped by her reply. We weren't even there an hour all together, but it was pointless to tell her this from what I could see.I mean...I can't believe IHOP has a woman like this representing this particular establishment and their company name. Maybe Maria could find a job where doesn't talk to people directly or at all! It's unfortunate I actually paid for service that was less than pleasant. Regardless..why does anyone have treat anybody this way? It was unnecessary .After she said what she said Maria gave the phone back to the man who then kindly explained to me that prices went up and only one omelette and two coffees were charged. I said thank you for explaining that to me, I appreciate it. I told him of my experience with Maria sparing him details he was at least sympathetic to my con

Stopped here around 5:00 AM for breakfast before heading out to Long Beach Airport. It was little cold inside the restaurant but food and server were awesome. Great way to start the trip. Will surely visit here again.
