Kukje Bakery Reviews
A Korean style bakery, lots of pastries, we tried the strawberry croissant and ham & cheese bun, both were very good.
Staff was friendly and helpful.
Seating area is small and not conducive to hanging out, but the food is definitely worth going back for.

Solid neighborhood addition.
AI art in the dining area though, c’mon really?

I wanted to love this bakery. The workers were attentive and nice. We tried the pastries and coffee a few weeks back. They're fun flavors but nothing that impressed me enough to come back for them. I tried the Strawberry cake recently and just wasn't a fan. It was $38 for a small cake, 2 white sponge filled with strawberries and fresh whipped cream. Cake was very dry and just a little too sweet for my taste. Maybe they should focus on less items.

Kukje Bakery is a Korean style bakery with lots of pastries. The place is big on the inside and they keep it clean. The store layout and design is nice, and the traffic flows smoothly. Staff was friendly and helpful. The seating area is small and not conducive to hanging out. Saturday morning it was busy, with tons of bakery items to choose from.
Some pastries were very good, like the strawberry croissant and ham & cheese bun. The creme brulee donut was the highlight of one trip to San Francisco. The twice-baked almond croissant had a lot of almond paste inside. The coffee cake was a nice thick and big size with a perfect amount of crunch/crumble and cinnamony sweetness, and the pastry was moist. The almond cookies were thin, crunchy, and not too sweet. The salt bread was soft and fluffy. The quiche was good, with limited quantities. The Kouign Aman, Potato Croquette and the garlic cream cheese pastry were favorites.
Other items were disappointing. The strawberry croissant was over rated with way too much going on. The chocolate croissant had no chocolate except for one small section. The Matcha melon pan lost the matcha flavor with the red bean filling. The Crème brûlée donut lacked the crunchy burnt glaze coating. The Mango donut didn't taste like mango. The Matcha marble cupcake and Chocolate cream cupcake were more like pudding cups. The Coconut cake was lemony. The Strawberry cake was dry and a little too sweet. Pastries were mediocre at best, but the coffee cake is worth coming back for.
