When do you order a full rack of ribs and they take out a full rack and cut out 6 pieces and call it a full rack? In my experience never. It's a joke. For 26.00 I got 6 pieces and looking at their menu I could have ordered 9 pieces for the same price. For what I got I could have saved 10$ What's the point in having a full rack on the menu if all they are going to do is cut pieces out of it.

The food was okay. Without the bbq sauce it didn't really have much flavor. DO NOT GET THE MAC & CHEESE!! It was very very mushy, it was almost like puréed for a baby. I ended up throwing it away and made Kraft Mac & cheese. I ordered it for my birthday, it didn't hit the spot but at least I'm not hungry anymore :( The ice for the drink was top tier though lol

I order a beef brisket sandwich and okra on DoorDash. It took them 50 minutes to make it. But then it turned out they only made the okra. They charged me $14 for a small order of okra and no one there was like "hmmm that seems off" lolol. When my driver went back for the sandwich they said they had no idea what he was talking about, so I had him cancel it. The okra is just meh.

The one in Vacaville is awesome! The Davis location... Not so much. They don't appear to ever be busy enough to have fresh, hot food ready for service. Several visits included a few of the meats "sold out" or unavailable. That's unacceptable at a place focused on and with barbecue pit in the name. I only go back for the fried okra. I am obsessed with this veggie. A guilty pleasure for sure. I had heard rumor this location was going to close. That wouldn't surprise me at all. If you want good barbecue in Davis, hold out for ribs at Tommy J's! They are epic!!!

The food here has always been perfectly fine, but our recent delivery orders have been lacking. The first order left out our ribs. I called, and the shift supervisor, Gigi, was very apologetic and offered us double what we'd ordered if we came in to pick it up. My wife took them up on the offer and picked it up the next day on her way home from work. Granted, this didn't do us much good for the previous night. Tonight, two weeks later, we thought we'd give them another try. This time the medium mac & cheese we were going to share was instead a single serving, which costs $2.50, instead of the $6.50 they charged us. At this point we decided it wasn't worth it to drive out there yet again to pick up a side of macaroni and cheese one day later, so we won't be returning again. At least not for delivery.
Stopped by here on the 19th, due to the fact that the Mexican joint next door had a mob of people lined up out into the parking lot. I thought Dickey's was closed as the lights were off and no one was inside. But the door was unlocked so I went it. They were actually open. It felt weird in here with all the lights off. Ordered a few brisket tacos and then noticed that one of the two people behind the counter, working with food was not wearing a mask. Damnit! If I had seen that before I ordered I would have left. Down in Texas these little bbq franchises are known as the "McDonald's of BBQ', since there's no visible smoker, but the tacos were excellent and cheap. Since the bbq in California is extremely lacking (Tri-Tip is a joke), this makes for a good substitute for real bbq. I would totally get these tacos again, but only if the staff has the decency to wear masks. I will try it one more time and if they are not, I'll be done with this place.

I went to the Davis, Ca location during my 1 hour lunch break. I ordered my food and walked to the register to pay. The girl with pink hair said she would ring me up later. I thought that was strange. I was eating in the lobby on this day. I had been to the one in Vacaville and they always had us pay up front even for dine in. I spent my whole lunch in the lobby eating and playing on my phone. Like any other normal dine in place, like chipotle or Inn and out for example, you get up and leave once your finished eating. Well that's what I did. Well once I left I got a girl shouting out "Mam you forgot to pay!" Well if they would of rang me up when i initially walked up to the register i wouldn't have forgotten to pay. All other places have you pay before you get your food! As soon as I walked back in to pay, the girl with pink hair said "sorry about that. I do that a lot." So she forgets to ring people up? I wonder how many people have walked out without paying because she didnt ring them up.

Time ago, I placed an order and payed online, but my food was not delivery. Instead of that I had to go to the restaurant for the food. At the restaurant, they told me that my original payment online was cancelled so I needed to pay again. Days later, I checked my CC account and I found two different charges. I went to the restaurant to complaint and they told me that I would obtain a refund. Two month later I'm still waiting to get my money back.

We have been craving for something BBQ so we got Dickey's through doordash - took them forever to finally accept my order. However; The food I got was so good- Mac cheese, beans and brisket with chicken meat- they all were so good! Brisket came out nothing but fatty in it.. so I didn't eat most of it. Chicken is so good with sweet bbq sauce. I'll order from this place again only chicken this time.
