Farmer's Kitchen Cafe at Natural Food Works

I feel bad writing this review but I feel like I’m doing a disservice by not letting people know. We called in an order, it was 2 burgers with fries, a smoothie and an iced black coffee.

Customer service was not that great which I could look past if the food wasn’t completely terrible.

The burgers had no flavor except for a bitter taste that we were trying to decide if the meat was rotten or not. The tomato was complete mush, lettuce was wilted, the pickles were also mush and tasted like they had turned.

The fries were overcooked and the ketchup was completely sour. Way too much vinegar.

As for the coffee. We thought it tasted like watered down tea and in a very small container.

The smoothie…. Not a smoothie at all. Not even edible. We tasted it, it tastes like rotten fruit. It had this thick foam on top and just watery. Also in a very small container.

I was so unbelievably disappointed in this meal. We couldn’t even eat it, it was so bad, after tasting it, it went right in the trash.

We paid $44 and some change because we wanted healthy organic food. It was also incredibly disappointing because we were traveling home after having to travel 6 hours to the bay for cancer treatments. We spent the extra money for a healthy option that left us with upset stomachs and $44 less in our pocket.

Absolutely loved it!! It is exceptionally delicious!!! It has so much flavor. Even better, it nourishes your being! Will definitely continue going & will tell everyone I know! We need more places that serve real quality food. Everyone is welcoming, pleasant & polite! What a wonderful place to dine at!! Marvelous indeed!

Very quaint country Cafe. Fresh produce and meats that are bought from local farmers. The cauliflower curry soup is very thick and flavorful. The omelet and mushroom sandwich is made with fresh grilled buttered bread. (Heavy on the butter) homemade French fries, fresh salad.

We got the beef burger and chicken sandwich with a side of delicious fries and white bean and kale soup.Best gluten free burger we’ve ever had.Very sweet service. It truly tastes like home made food.This is the place to go out to eat if you want something delicious but also healthy and nourishing.They also sell frozen foods to go.

The way REAL food tastes and feels; eat here to experience that. Being worn down on the road trip up North, Ive been worn down by what's generally available to eat so finding this spot really magnified my soul. Thanks for having this amazing food available!

REAL food! This the healthiest, tasty food you can find in Davis! The Farmers Kitchen offers quality, local food at a delicious price… I am so grateful for this gem of a restaurant ♥️

A unique spot in downtown Davis. It feels like youre walking into the kitchen. There are vegetables displayed in fridge cases and a small counter where you order food from a one page menu that is updated regularly to reflect the produce. I ordered a large salad and it was delightful. Full of pickled veggies. And the fries are not to be missed.It's a homely place...no frills. But that's part of the appeal. It feels family run and full of care.

3 of us stopped in for lunch while looking for quick healthy-ish options. The place could definitely use some love, possibly a deep clean. The table was a bit dirty. We didn't want to drink our water.Our food was just okay. We all got burgers, two of them veggie. The fries were tasty. I ordered their Green Garlic Soup and the server let me know that it had chicken broth, since I ordered the veggie burger, which was very nice of them.

Not only does this restaurant serve delicious food, they are also doing amazing things for the environment and our health. Their dedication to sustainability is admirable to say the least. They are moving mountains to help shape our future and make a difference. Will be coming here every time I'm in town. Can't wait, wish I had this back home.
