I heard koditorei is closing. It's the worst news today! I'll miss your cakes so much.... Now I don't know where to buy cakes in Davis

Really enjoyed coming here and trying different pastries! Everything was really good and the ambiance was super cute and comforting. The lines were long but went by pretty quickly. Went here twice in a week in attempts to get a chocolate croissant but no luck yet! Maybe next time :)

Carefully look over the cakes before you decide to buy any! (Just don't risk it if you see any sort of wilting or discoloration in the fruits.) I've gone to this bakery several times now, and I'm usually satisfied with their pastries. I finally cave and buy their Austrian cheesecake, only to be disgusted when I take a bite and experience an awful sour taste from the strawberries. Upon closer examination, the strawberries are sad and wilted, the color is similar to that of a dehydrated strawberry that you'd fish out of a starbucks drink. When I asked, a manager insisted that the fruits were fresh and the cakes prepared daily, which if true, implies that they habitually top their cakes with fruits that have already gone bad... In addition, the employees and owner in the back dont bother to properly wear their masks, and the newer employees in front will do things like directly touching the pastries with their hands.

Tried this cute, little cafe after a hike at Putah trail. It was 11:30 am and there were no pastries left. There were however a few slices of cake left. I asked if they had the Goulash since it's on their website menu but they didn't have that available either. I decided to go with the Lentil soup with the single slice of Multi grain-nut bread, and a slice of the vanille cake. My husband ordered a lemon tea. The staff are friendly, and I enjoyed the decor in the cafe. It feels warm and homey. It was also clean and decorated for Christmas. I was also pleased to find that they had outdoor seating. My husband has become nervous being around a lot of people since covid, so I do like having this option for him. I did enjoy my soup, very flavorful and easy on the stomach. The bread had a good chewy texture, but I am not of fan of nuts so it just wasn't for me.

Famous for their spinach and cheese croissants and it's obvious why. Using European cream cheese which is both salty and tangy and spinach to give some color the contrast between the sweet flaky puff pastry and the filling is amazing and perfect. I also got the plum tart which was so lovely. The color, the glaze, the creamy vanilla sauce. I also got the Austrian donut which is a donut with chocolate drizzled on top with almosds, and a custard and berry filling. My friend got the strawberry pastry and a powdered super croissant. The only thing I didn't like about this bakery? The dishwater smell in the air that would not go away even after an hour and a half.Other than that? I loved everything else about Konditorei

Top notch service to match their cakes, both visually and when it comes to pleasing the taste buds. You don't even have to close your eyes to feel like you're back in Austria.

Absolutely delicious! Everything here is authentic as can be and you can see Albert and his wife working - a true local business. Considering they had signs for being understaffed, our food and drinks came out quick. I'll definitely bring visiting friends and family here.

Make sure to come early or everything will run out! I loved the Gloria mousse, liebling torte, and strawberry danish. The staff are always helpful and friendly even when they get super busy. I used to live super close by and I miss coming here in the mornings! There were times when I would come every other day. My only issue was sometimes there are bugs in the pastry case but it's hard to control that since their door frequently opens with customers coming in.

One of my favorite restaurants in Davis, especially for breakfast! The pastries are amazing, and I’ve never ordered something I didn’t like. Everything is great quality and rich in taste, but not overly so. Just don’t try to go on a Monday, you will be sad since they are closed.

I learned that this gem was pronounced "kon-dee-toh-rye" by one of the workers my last visit. Who knew I was saying it wrong this entire time! This place is really special. Fresh baked pastries and desserts are made every day- some days are even sold out with most of what they have so i suggest coming early in the morning! My auntie and mom raved about this bakery when I first started living in Davis and during the pandemic was one of the first times I decided to go and try it. I have been coming here ever since! Some of my favorites have got to be their breakfast croissant sandwich and their poppy seed coffee cake which is served with a milky, sweet vanilla sauce! The croissant sandwich has got to be one of my favorite breakfast items to order anywhere and konditorei does a lovely job with it. From the croissant to everything in between, nothing beats this breakfast classic!

Amazing ambiance, breakfast, drinks, cakes, pastries. Everything. I love going here for a cute brunch date. Great taste in music, and beautiful setting inside and out. You have to come early or else they sell out, but I love how there is zero waste here. Please be patient in line, because it can be very busy in the mornings. Barista tips are cash only. Their layered styling drinks are beautiful. I love their chai latte but really any of their lattes, mochas, and cappuccino are popular. The chocolate nougat, tiramisu, and esterhazy are my favorite cakes. They have amazing and beautiful dessert crepes that are usually served on the weekends. Try the quark cheese strudel "topfen strudel" warmed up with vanilla sauce, it will surprise you. Any of the fruit pastries are good, I like the mango. I can't say I have a favorite breakfast or lunch item because THEY ARE ALL AMAZING. You can order any of their cakes or sweet breads, or if you are lucky they might be on display. They have really good seasonal gelato. Lastly, their chocolate liqueur truffles are my favorite luxury chocolates, no chocolate compares now that I've had these. This is a small family owned business. The experienced Pastry Chef trained in Vienna and I have never been to a bakery that even comes close to the quality I receive here. They take resumes for those who are interested in gaining experience and training as a baker. I hope to one day get my wedding cake from here, and I hope they are still open when that comes!

Well, I have officially gotten my hands on a couple of their pastries, so I felt the need to update my review. First off, I came here like right at 9am and there were a decent amount of pastries left, however I highly recommend you get here when they open, or no later than an hour after opening! I am not an earlier riser, so I do hope one day I can somehow manage to wake up and get here right at their opening time! I tried the peach and vanilla pastry, and one with strawberries and vanilla which were both so delicious. I really enjoyed the pastries because they weren't overly sweet, they were moist, and tasted so fresh. I also was able to try the bacon & egg breakfast sandwich with a croissant this time, and it didn't disappoint! Another item I really love here, is their iced mocha. They make this drink very well here, it's not bitter like many other places and it's a very fair sized drink for its price. It pairs well with the pastries I tried, and I've come here just for the iced mocha a few times now. This place is one of a kind and I look forward to trying more of their pastries when I can!

If you ever dream of pastries that are as exciting to see, as it is to eat. You've found Heaven here. Breakfast or lunch, is rewarding to just be there.

We regret to inform you that your ham and cheese comes with a serving of flies. On the third ham and cheese there was a fly nesting on top. We informed the employees about the flies, but unfortunately they did not care about our opinions or the safety of other customers. Great way to get harmful bacterias, viruses and parasites. Eat at your own discretion.

Was craving for the usual: strawberry puff pastry, mango, peach, coffee cake and crepe, but seemed that we came in a little too late so we only got few things. But the breakfast pizza, coffee cake and crepe are still great as I remembered. So that was satisfying.Lastly since we came in a little late for the day we weren't able to pick up the Gloria's mousse cake nor the orange cake so we just got one of each of the remaining pastries and asked one of the helpful ladies to beautifully packed them like a cake which was perfect and was enjoyed by everyone. They are always busy and if its your first time here, they really have great pastries so thats never a concern for us.Plus their breakfast menu's just enough as well since we're not into having a heavy fulfilling breakfast, so if that's your thing, you will not be satisfied here.As always the staff are extremely helpful
