This place is super dirty. I dont think the floor has ever been mopped. I ran to the bathroom before I even paid. Not good at all.

Big mistake coming here as we should have noted since no one else was in the restaurant. The sushi was thin and stale, the sauce was overpowering, the dessert was small and oily.
Most of all, the service was horrible, the waiter pointed at the menu to tell as there will be a $10 charge for any food not eaten. It was just our second round ordering, why be so rude?
Go somewhere else where you don’t fell harass while ordering and also get better food.

Delicious food, great service, plenty of parking. Highly recommend. My daughter loves the crispy California roll and teriyaki salmon.

The food and service was wonderful as well as the pricing for the all-you-can-eat option. I personally made sure that I got my moneys worth and it was not difficult. The downside is that the walls had manga panels from the hit manga One Piece. As a casual fan of the show I had not yet gotten far enough to know about a certain characters death, and got spoiled from the wall panels. Found it a bit funny, but regardless unfortunate.

I want to come back here every week!
Servers and staff are very hospitable and the food is amazing! Not only that but AYCE is worth the price. My sister and I have already came here twice.

I used to come to this restaurant in the mid '00s, and it changed both name and ownership at some point between then and now. Perhaps I'm having a bit of nostalgia fogging, but it seems the quality declined somewhat the change. However, Nami is still a perfectly serviceable mid-range sushi restaurant even if they are no longer a hidden top-tier gem the way I remember them having been in 2005. Their sashimi continues to be decent, as do their bento boxes. They rolled out an AYCE menu at some point as well, but I haven't tried this as I tend to be skeptical of AYCE anywhere. The lunch service tends to run a bit slow even when the place is nearly empty, which I find mildly frustrating when I'm in a hustle to get back to work. The staff does seem to have some difficulty with English (they speak Cantonese as their primary language), which has made for difficulties in recent visits (explaining that I was not in fact ordering AYCE), but I have since become somewhat of a regular so they remember my preferences, which is a nice touch. I wouldn't call this a destination restaurant, but I appreciate it for its convenience and its prices which I find to be far more reasonable than many other Japanese restaurants in Davis. All in all, a good mix of quality, convenience, and cost -- a good lunchtime choice for folks who live and/or work in East Davis.

My boyfriend has gotten take out from Nami Sushi a couple of times and we're both extremely pleased with the food and service! Today we got Teriyaki chicken and I got Chicken Katsu, we both had fried rice, salad and miso soup. I got an iced tea and he got a Japanese soda. I'm part Asian, so I'm pretty picky about any type of Asian food. My Chicken Katsu was perfect, nice and crispy and a generous amount of meat, the fried rice was some of the best in my opinion here in Davis and I love their salad dressing! I didn't eat the Miso soup because it was too much food. We also got an order of their donuts, which, OMG are absolutely delicious!
I have a seafood/shellfish allergy, so I can't enjoy their sushi, and they followed my request not to cross contaminate my food with any seafood, which I greatly appreciate.
Nami Sushi will continue to get our business and we're so happy that they're right down the street!
