This tiny hole in the wall never disappoints! The pizzas are always tasty and ingredients are fresh! Their pastries are delicious, I recommend the cream puffs. Whenever I'm in the area visiting family, I stop by this place for pizza and pastries. I recommend this place!

The best bread and pizza in Davis. Funky little spot, near Amtrak, and they make it work. For the pizza, it's available as whole pies, or by the slice. Bread makes a German happy with a perfect crust. Also, Aziz rocks!

Best pizza in town ! by the slice, no place to sit really but coming from Brooklyn NY this Pizza is closest to a NY slice you can find in Davis

Loved the convenient location across from the Amtrak station for Davis! Fabulous food at reasonable prices beautifully displayed for "quick" selection if you already know what you want to order. I ordered a slice of cheese pizza, Parmesan garlic bread and whole wheat bread. I was able to get the loaves sliced before I left. Parmesan garlic bread is simply amazing!!! Can't wait to return and try more items. Lovely shop and highly recommend!

TRY THE PIZZA HERE IF YOU LOVE A NICE BREADY CRUST!! I came here with a friend for coffee & pastries and ended up falling in love with their pizzas. Love that they sell by the slice in addition to the whole pizza. The pastries & coffee were nice, but the tasty pizza is what keeps me coming back!

Look, I've never been to NY, so I can't speak on their pizza. I also haven't tried that many pizzas, as I tend to stick with what I like. But this is the best pizza that I've ever had. They got the dough recipe figured out. It's simple, gets the job done. Thin and crispy on the outside, doughy on the inside. Not too doughy to the point where I'm eating bread. Just good pizza. Whenever I'm headed to Tahoe from the bay, I make a pit stop here to grab a slice or two. I'm always skeptical that nostalgia skews my view in a favorable light, but I just had them again this past weekend and they still hold up. Don't ever change, Village Bakery. Side note, I find grabbing slices at this location to be better than their sit down spot. I think the pizza gets a little more time in the oven here.

I've tried several items at Village Bakery but none have survived long enough for me to take a picture. I recommend their ham and cheese croissants, or any other croissant for that matter. Their ham and cheese is my go-to as it's filling and delicious. They sell out quick of some items so I try to get there early whenever I'm in town. There's a couple 2 top tables but this really isn't a place to sit down and eat. It's more of a grab and go to a local coffee shop. Although my croissant is usually gone by the time I reach Temple Coffee. That's this critics review, until next time, I'll be eating.

The pizza is same level of quality and care as fast food joint. Basically is all about profit margin based on low price point. Garbage. The bread is as mediocre.

*** Vegetarian Review ***Village Bakery is a true mainstay in Davis, California, and it's no wonder why. This old school establishment has been serving the community for over 25 years, making it a cherished local gem. Whether you're craving a delicious slice of pizza or seeking the perfect artisan bread to start your day, Village Bakery has got you covered. Their freshly baked breads are a treat for early risers and a testament to their commitment to quality.Would I Come Back? Heck yeah. This is one of places I bring visitors to for a slice of Davis. Plenty of vegetarian options. Comparisons: Their pizzas are cooked in a brick oven so if you're a fan of Upper Crust Bakery on their Wednesday pizza nights, you'll really enjoy Village. Both are bakeries first so their pizza crusts are next level. For a more National comparison, Blaze pizza is close, but again, it's the crust.Tips for First Timers:1. Free street parking2. Call in advance or use the App. They can get busy so use your time wisely.3. Whole pizzas and slices are available after 11am. 4. Daily meal deal ... 1 slice, 1 salad, and 1 soda.5. Scone of the day. See my photos for the menu.6. 4 inside chairs. 2 outside tables. And if you happen to be in the mood for something sweet instead, Village Bakery has got you covered there too. Their menu boasts a big selection of housemade desserts that will satisfy any sweet tooth. Indulge in their Napoleons, fluffy cream puffs, decadent eclairs, delectable fruit tarts, or the classic Italian favorite, tiramisu. With such a variety of mouthwatering treats, you'll surely find the perfect ending to your meal. With all the tempting choices available, it's the pizzas at Village Bakery that truly steal the show and make it a must-visit spot. Their diverse menu caters to all palates, including a fantastic range of vegetarian options like the delightful Roasted Bell Pepper, Eggplant, Greek, Artichoke, and Spinach pizzas. And for the meat lovers in your life, they make it easy ... just order the Meat Lovers pizza.Custom Vegetarian Pizza ($27.50, Grade A) - It all starts with their generous 16" cheese pizza, which is already a satisfying choice at $23. But the customization options take it to the next level. For just an additional $1 each, you can enhance your pizza with toppings like mushrooms, tomatoes, and spinach. And if you're feeling adventurous, I highly recommend adding the roasted onions for an extra $1.50. The portion is large enough for three or two particularly hungry individuals. The perfectly melted cheese and melt-in-your-mouth crust make every bite a treat. I personally love enjoying the crusts with pads of butter. Village Bakery strikes a fantastic balance with their toppings, never overloaded or under-loaded, which ensures even cooking and a harmonious bite every time.Desserts:Don't forget to treat yourself to one of Village Bakery's tempting dessert options before leaving. My personal favorite is the indulgent chocolate eclair -- it doesn't leave that film in your mouth after you eat it. And their sticky bun is also a must. Everything is all made in-house and for those that don't like overly sweet desserts, this is your spot. For comparison, California State Fair goers are aware of the famous cinnamon roll (aka sticky bun) in the exhibit hall. I look forward to that particular fair food every year. Eating this sticky bun more than satisfies that yearly craving. Bottom Line:Village Bakery in Davis, California, is a cherished mainstay that has been serving the community for over 25 years. Their friendly service, always hot pizzas, and delicious housemade desserts make it a must-visit spot. Whether you're craving a slice or a whole pie, Village Bakery has earned its enduring reputation for good reason.

Such a cute little shop that sells pastries, pizza, bread, and breakfast items. They've been around since around 2003 - how have I never visited??? It's a short walk from the heart of Downtown Davis, next to the railroad tracks. I tried the quiche and it was delicious. Crust was nice and flaky and the filling was smooth and eggy. Good amount of cheese too. Perfect portion size for a small breakfast. Next time I go, I either want to try a slice of pizza or that chocolate lava cake...Anyway, they do have fees for certain purchases. I think it's something like $0.50 for credit card purchases under $10 and some other fee for orders above $100, but it's pretty transparent - they have signs right at the front. Super friendly service too!

Was passing by when I thought I'd stop at this place since I was a little hungry and in need for a bakery treat I stopped in this little gem where I was greeted with pure happiness from Evelyn. She was super friendly and told me that she take my order when I was ready I had informed her that I had never been here before, so she told me no worries and to let me know if I had any questions and when I was ready, I like that this place has pizza some sweet desserts and they also bake bread on the daily. They close at 5 PM so I know she been there all day and she had great customer service to be at the end of her shift. I can always appreciate good customer service, and as we know, it's so easy to write a bad review, then writing a good one!She was so friendly and I will definitely be returning I'm writing this as I stuff my face with pizza ! Nom nom nom :)Thanks girl!

I decided to finally try this place after I came across it looking for the best pizza places in Davis. I got two slices and dug in. Overall, they were flavorful and I especially liked the veggie slice. However, they were a bit stale and didn't really stand out significantly from any pizza I've had in the past. That being said, they were pretty filling and I can see myself going back in the future.
