About Pippal - Dublin

Pippal is an Indian cuisine with a twist of its own, with very well presented and garnished dishes. It is expensive, making it a choice for special occasions. Food is delicious, and it is best to order multiple dishes to share among your group. The ambiance is nice, and the vibe is loved by guests. Customer service is next level, with staff giving very good recommendations and being super professional.

The appetizers, including Mushroom Galouti, Chakri Paneer, and Chicken Tikka Trio, are spot on. The Chicken Tikka Trio’s white/malai style chicken is packed with flavor. For mains, the Malai Kofta, Paneer Parat, and Lal Maas are beautifully presented and full of flavor. The Lal Maas is a complete flavor bomb, rich, bold, and perfectly balanced in spice, with mutton that is exceptionally tender. The Kashmiri Mutton Gushtaba offers a tangy, slightly sour flavor profile. Desserts like Ghewar, Balushahi, and Daulat ki Chaat are amazing, with well-balanced sweetness.

Some dishes, like the sprout chaat, can be poorly made, and the tava subji may be dripping with oil. Soups can be extremely salty due to heavy-handed soy sauce. The music can be loud, making conversation difficult. The Dublin location is priced higher than the Emeryville location. Despite mixed experiences, Pippal firmly belongs in the top tier of upscale Indian restaurants in the Bay Area, and guests will definitely return.

As other reviewers have noted, this is an Indian cuisine with a twist of its own. Very well presented and garnished dishes. It is expensive and hence something we would consider for special occasions. Our previous experiences have been overall positive. The most recent experience was lukewarm. The sprout chaat was poorly made - the red chana was sprouted but not cooked and was very hard to eat as it felt at best partially sprouted. The tava subji was nice but dripping with...read full review
Title: Incredible Mains, Appetizers, & Desserts—Just Need to Fix the Soup!
We had an overall great experience at Pippal in Dublin!
We started our meal with two Veg Manchow soups and one Chicken Manchow soup. Unfortunately, the soups were extremely salty due to heavy-handed soy sauce, and our request for fried noodles was forgotten twice. When we brought up the saltiness to our server, Will, he mentioned that many guests complain about it, but the chef hasn't made...read full review
