I'm a regular here...the food is excellent. Cash only...cash is king. Cheap drinks. Small and dark place. Lot of good times and good people.

So, I DO NOT leave reviews for places I eat , but this place deserves one. I probably ate there about 3 or 4 years ago and ordered the cioppino. It was so fkn good. So after eating cioppino at Smees Alaskan fish bar in Reno last week I was craving some more. I called PJ'S to see if they still served it , and they did, ordered it to go, and OTC (OFF THE CHAIN). FK Sausalito, San Fran, Carmel etc...go to PJ's

If I could give this place zero stars I certainly would!! This review/experience of being CURSED OUT in the parking lot is LONG overdue. So let me say that their food is actually fantastic, environment is run down, and service is poor. My family and I would go to this place quite often despite the awful service and trash ambiance since its down the street from us and we do enjoy the food. However, this interaction is the LAST time I ever go to PJs. We placed a rather large to-go order over the phone for six meals and they told me it would be about an hour. No worries, I was across the street anyways getting my nails done. An hour and 10 minutes go by and they call me up so rudely raising their voice at me "Where are you?? When are you picking this up??" Okay, mind you its only 10 minutes past the estimated time they gave me. I assured them I am indeed coming but I am across the street still waiting on my nails to finish. I offered to pay over the phone so they can be reassured I'm coming, but they only take cash. So I tell them it will be about another 30 minutes until I'm there (this was no where near their closing time when this was happening so it's not like I'm putting them in a jam) and the lady said okay. Literally 10 minutes go by and they call me again to see where I'm at. I tell the person on the phone "I told you 30 minutes 10 minutes ago, so now I will be there in 20 minutes. I am literally across the street finishing up my nails" The person tells me okay. SURE ENOUGH another call in 10 minutes, and another call as I'm pulling into the lot (like I said, 30 minutes and guess what? I was there in 30 minutes) I come in and I'm being apologetic because that is just my demeanor given I worked in food service for many years but in hindsight - what am I being apologetic for?? Anyways, the waitress was nice and had no issues she rang me up just fine but then I saw the real issue and the mastermind behind all these calls: THE OWNER. I literally already paid at this point I'm getting my food and this man proceeds to follow me out the store and CURSE ME OUT IN THE PARKING LOT. "F**K YOU pick up your f***king food because of you I will NEVER do to go orders again!!" again, given I'm used to this working in food service I deescalated the situation (although, I usually do that when Im the one behind the counter, not the customer... funny) I simply said "Sir, there is no need to curse at me this food is already paid for. I'm sorry you feel this way, have a great night" A grown white man followed a small, young, asian girl out to the parking lot and really cursed me out. I thought to myself, "Does he treat other customers like this?" Nah, racism is alive and well. I tell everyone I know to stay away from PJ's like the plague. I hope they shut down soon so no one experiences what I went through!!

John makes a delicious and strong lemon drop. The food was authentic Italian food. The chicken Marsala was perfectly cooked and their spaghetti and meatballs was mouthwatering. Definitely be back again. Cash only

Hi I came into this little gym and found my family my friends and my home this place is an awesome atmosphere the people here are great the food is awesome you may wait a little bit but when you have gourmet food you're going to wait a few this is not Burger King you can't have it your way and when you walk in and there's a wait usually the waitress that she's so kind and she's so nice she will let you know ahead of time if there is a wait I absolutely love this place and if you're looking to have great food and a nice cocktail you found your home we all six together around I love the owner and I love his wife I love his daughter my family comes here to eat all the time I highly recommend this restaurant and the customers there are some customers that do not respect Covid rules and the waitress have to do her job there is still social distancing people still are not ready to take their masks off and we respect that but we don't appreciate customers coming in screaming at the stop in front of everybody how rude was that that poor waitress did her job she tried to keep that woman calm but she was so rude

Had a great afternoon lunch of a margarita and Italian sausage sandwich at PJ's . Service was good and the menu had some interesting items. I will be returning.

I only give this place a 5 star because the cheese garlic bread is the best tasting garlic bread out in the bay area. If you want to have drinks here and your a newbie don't waste your time the bartenders are O.g. they don't offer assistance, you can literally stand in front of that counter and if the bartender don't know you he won't even acknowledge you. The Bar is small the food is good lot's of parking space and the waitress taking orders is also nice.
