Hong Kong East Ocean Seafood Restaurant

Pricy. We ordered 7 dishes for 5 adults and came home with leftovers. Most dishes were unusual and good (not great). The Peking duck and duck lettuce wraps however were disappointing. It was only my second visit, so maybe we didn't order their “better” tasting dishes? Our service was fine, unlike the experience of other reviews. Ambiance was great!

This is the perfect spot for both locals and tourists looking to enjoy a stunning view of San Francisco day or night. The sunset views are truly breathtaking, with sweeping sights of the Bay Bridge and, on a clear day, even the Golden Gate Bridge. The dim sum and main menu are outstanding, easily rivaling some of the top Chinese restaurants I've visited.

This very popular restaurant seems to be resting on its laurels. The food was good but not great. Service was spotty at best. Difficult to flag a server down. Great views and nice white tablecloths. So it looked very nice. Probably great for visitors. Doubt if I'll go back

Place to go for Cantonese dim sum. Great choices. Plenty of live seafood in fish tank to choose from. Always my first choice in San Francisco area..

The food is very good, and reasonably prices. The fresh fish is excellent, but very expensive - $90 plus for 2lbs. The view is spectacular. The service is very slow. They don't have enough wait staff.

Great location, great dim sum and excellent salmon fried rice. Peking Duck was boney with little meat, but skin was crispy. Wait staff didn't bring requested items in timely manner.

Service was cold and dismissive. Ordering a dish that never came, I reached out to my waiter who was passing our table and he waved me away and did not come back later to follow up... After bringing the food, the waiter not check back to ensure all was good. As I said, my main dish never arrived. We were disappointed at the cold, humorless behavior of the waitperson. Several of the male wait-personnel, including the abrasive Host who seated us, were heavy-handed and unfriendly. Perhaps you might consider more women in your ranks...People who are socially high-functioning and warm. Further when the reservation was made on-line a "reason" was requested and we checked "Birthday". But no one acknowledged the Birthday. Why does the app even ASK for a reason, I wonder... Good luck. Very bad experience for us.

We've visited several times this year when dining out spontaneously, but the food consistently falls short of expectations. While the service is courteous and the ambiance is pleasant, the overall value doesn't justify the the food quality and cost. After giving it multiple chances, we've decided not to return.

Such good food. Ambiance beautiful; all our guests felt pampered. Perfect place to take an after dinner walk along the beautiful Emeryville Marins

The food was very good, but the service was the worst I have had in years. They kept bringing us the wrong food and when we would ask about it they were annoyed. After I ordered egg rolls and waited 40 minutes they then told me that didn't have them. Could be true or not? The check was wrong, they had food in the bill that a different table received. I would not recommend even though the food we did get was good.

Great service. They sat us by the window so we could see the sun go down and the views. The food was great.

1st time there and will definitely return. Delicious food and a beautiful setting with views of the bay, light and airy.

For a magnificent setting, great variety of dim sum, and excellent quality, this restaurant is hard to beat.

Excellent dim sum (as usual). The waiter was very accommodating— he actually packaged the left-overs himself into those wonderful plastic containers. I've dined at East Ocean many times over the years, and this meal was the best of many good meals. Thank you.
