A place with great Cantonese food options and long standing restaurant in Emeryville. Love it.

Went for my Father's 92nd Birthday. Food was outstanding, waitress helped us with cake we brought, plates, knife, and even cut for us. Took pictures of family. Great place with wonderful view. Highly recommend.

Service was very poor sadly. The wait staff were not attentive at all and seemed annoyed that we were there! Would not recommend

It was for my father's birthday dinner. We ordered from the regular menu, not a banquet or set dinner. Food and service were both good, our table was next to the window, the blinds were down when it was still very bright, then they raised the blinds when the sun was down, it was not a clear day therefore no sunset that evening. Because it was a birthday dinner, therefore we ordered the braised Yee Foo egg noodles with dried scallops and mushrooms, and it was the best braised Yee Foo noodles we ever had. I haven't had good Yee Foo noodles for a long time, many Chinese restaurants elsewhere did not make it right, always disappointed. HK East Ocean did a very good job to control the right amount of moist and the flavor and keeping the good texture ofnthe noodles. The corkage charge was only $20 per table regardless how many bottles of wine were served, which was a very good deal, so people could drink more wine and order more delicious food to enjoy eith the wines.

We were a party of 4, and was seated next to a picturesque window with a view of the Bay Bridge and San Francisco skyline. Unfortunately it was a foggy day, and views of the Golden Gate and San Rafael bridges were obscured. Servers were very attentive and the food was fantastic! I have eaten dim sum in the Richmond and Sunset districts, down the peninsula and Hong Kong East Ocean is my favorite spot due to their wide selection and variety of foods. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for great food with a view!

What a fun place for a group dinner. We visited last night and the staff was very accommodating and attentive. Other pluses; good food, great views, full bar and plenty of free parking. They even offered us free dessert, though it was not to our taste. Overall, I would go back!

The roast duck, the roast pork, the seafood and the noodles, were all superlative. It was nice to be able to order a little dim sum as appetizers, and it is great dim sum. The new chairs with covers, the new matching teacups, plates and tea pots, are great. And the view is spectacular. Mt. Tamalpais, Angel Island, Treasure Island, Coit Tower, the SF skyline, the Bay Bridge, and right in the center, the Golden Gate Bridge. Perfect place to take visitors and San Franciscans. Or have a drink and an appetizer in the bar, just to enjoy the view.

Loved it. I've lived in the area and had it on my list. Finally made it! Best Chinese food I've had in a long time. Can Chinese food be “clean”? Definitely from here. Rice, veggies and pork all tasted fresh and delicious. My new go to spot for food and the views! Highest recommendation. It's where Asians eat Chinese food. That says it all.

This is a great location, great views of the water abd the city skyline, plenty of parking and a wide array of selections on the menu. I have been there 4 times and intend to keep returning whenever I am in the area

We have been visited Hong Kong East Ocean Seafood Restaurant at Emeryville, mostly for dim sum, but this review was related to dinner.

Environment: Fine water setting. Old carpets definitely needed to be cleaned, and windows should also be cleaned regularly.

Service and food: We arrived there on recent Friday approx. 5:30 p.m., as we wanted to try the Friday fish special. Unfortunately, it was not unavailable. One female server even said it sold out--sold out during lunch (for dinner special!?). Then, we ordered another (stream) fresh fish as an alternative, but after 15 minutes, we were already consuming the other two dishes - half chicken and (very small) crab/scallop fry rice, our female server told us that they also run out of fresh fish! Finally, we ordered stir fry broccoli with meat instead.

Price: little more expensive compare to other Chinese restaurants

Parking: the free parking lot is relatively small (especially when they have party), hard to find parking...may need to park across the street (not sure it is allowed)

Overall: Disappointed with service, especially issues related to fresh fish and Friday Special.

Any restaurant with a great view makes me suspect the food will be sub-par, but this time the great view came with surprisingly good dim sum.

Very tasty and high-quality seafood dim sum, soup, fried rice, and noodles! Also, gorgeous views from the windows where our table was so that made it a very positive experience. Plus, parking is right at front and convenient. However, service was awful, at a time when the restaurant wasn't busy since it was a weeknight. Because of this, most of us aren't likely to come back here which is a shame since everything else was good.
