“This place was just what I was looking for. Love the French decor and ambiance! The Spanish guitar was incredible and really made my night. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect evening. Love the outdoor patio especially on a warm night. We had a waiter that was friendly and conversational. Was so sad to know this place is closing. “Loved this restaurant! Everything was delicious and very authentic. Among our favorites were the brioche with anchovies, cod fritters, pan con tomate, patas braves, and tortilla espanola (the best ever, including in Spain). Everything we ordered was amazing. The chocolate dessert was amazing, almost a truffle pudding. Our wonderful server guided us through the menu perfectly. I can't recommend this restaurant enough. We will come back frequently.“

“The food and service were awesome. However, I did order a latke and caviar but didn’t get it nor was I charged. I guess it was missed somehow. Either way we had more than enough food. Thank you to our waitress for recommending me the fish and chips, it was tasty. Oh and the Sweetbun Crown was AMAZING.“
“Atmosphere was great. Service was good. Food was bit overpriced but I can pay for atmosphere. Fish Taco was good. $9. Kids chicken tenders and fries were really good portion. My boy was happy. Tasted just like any chicken tenders and fries. Not bad, nothing outstanding. Shrimp with black sauce was tasty. Slightly small for $20. Overall worth try. Hard to find parking if you wish not to pay extra for hotel parking.“

“While the ramen is quite good, try their other non-ramen offerings. Katsu curry rice is very good here (katsu pork was prepared perfectly and curry flavorful) as well as their gyudon (beef over rice). Service as fast, friendly and attentive and the dining area was very clean. Value for the meal is excellent especially for West LA! Cannot recommend enough!“

As someone who's tried a wide spectrum of taco spots from street stands to Michelin, I was pleasantly surprised (and honestly a little salty it took me this long) to discover @tacostumadre right in my own neighborhood. This festive, casual spot specializes in modern Mexican fusion, with innovative culinary takes on Mexican cuisine starting from their iconic fried chicken taco. With over a dozen different protein and plant-based options that you can order as a taco, burrito or bowl, there's definitely something for everyone on their menu.
I stopped by the Westwood location, but there's also locations in Brentwood, Santa Monica, Weho, Larchmont and Los Feliz. It was really easy to find street parking around that area on the weekend at lunchtime, but they also have a $5 valet lot next to the restaurant. Service was SO nice, and I really appreciated how they took the time to quickly yet meticulously prepare every dish + gave me free chips and salsa with my order.
