The Tri Tip sandwich and fries were quite filling. The TriTip was extremely tasty it's melts in your mouth literally! I'm a weirdo though I don't like meat with fat so I had to cut the fat off the edges of the meat. I was really craving a fountain drink (Dr. PEPPER) I don't drink soda often but when I go to a restaurant for lunch I typically do especially when taking a break from yard work, so that was a little disappointing they had a odd drink selection. The dining area is very basic with a few pictures of Eureka High Football teams that were successful. Along with a few pictures of relatives who played college football and even NFL football! I'm curious where they BBQ at? Another BBQ restaurant in town Grills the meat right outside and the smell is INCREDIBLE! I don't recall ever smelling BBQ or seeing the smoke coming from Sammy's. They also provide catering services too! They have a restaurant in Arcata as well.

Amazing chicken teriyaki and pineapple coleslaw!!! My husband had the pineapple meatballs and potato salad and was also impressed. Good sized portions that filled us up.

I love Sammy's. I have been going there since they opened. The BBQ is excellent.. love the flavors at Sammy's.I'm a real fan of the Pulled Pork and the pineapple slaw. So good. Sammy's is wonderful for the community. We love him and all he does. Sports theme inside. I very Happy to see him open after the pandemic.Thank God he stayed..Thank you Sammy.

I frequent the area to visit family. Decided to try the bbq that was "voted best bbq". If this is part of the choices for best in the area then i need to open some new business up in Eureka. I like to choose local because it's a way to support business, but this business needs restaurant rescue or Gordon Ramsay asap. The interior could use a carpet cleaning and a fresh coat of paint. The bathroom had no paper towels, seat covers or TP. The kind young man who took our order was quiet, and polite. Could use a little work on suggesting items perhaps? They were out of tri tip and ribs, ( it was a Monday btw),, so I went with teriyaki chicken. My sides were macaroni salad and fries. The chicken marinade was pretty salty, Macaroni salad was a bases of mayonnaise and pasta, and the fries were from a bag a little undercooked. I know this seems harsh but maybe a dose of reality is in order here. Im sorry to say next visit to town I won't be coming back here.

I came for an early dinner with a book to read as I was by myself. The man who waited on me willingly answered questions, made some recommendations when asked-always appreciated at a new place-and brought the food promptly. I ordered only one meat, beef brisket, and thought it was too much and that I'd leave my plate half eaten. Well, no such thing. The brisket was well seasoned, so I ate some without their sauce, but added the delicious sauce about half of the time for variety. Cleaned my plate! Thanks for delicious food, Sammy's. A friend recommended you as having great barbecue; I'll have to let him know he was right!

Oh. My. GOSH!!!!This place has, hands down, the best macaroni salad I have ever had. And their rangoons are so creamy, light, and perfectly crispy. A pleasant surprise from the menu. The chicken is always melt-in-your-mouth tender. My only complaint, perhaps, is that my tri-tip is usually cold. But delicious anyways!Dont forget their bbq sauce too. Super sweet, tangy, and delicious!

The pork ribs were pretty good, everything else that we ordered was not. The potato salad tasted like a big spoonful of mayonnaise. The pineapple meatballs were mushy and coated in a thick sauce like orange chicken from a Chinese buffet. The plain white rice was inedible. All of this for $45. I am leaving two stars for the service. The girl upfront was patient and friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.This was at the Eureka location
